"Bolivar" - Joe Alessi with San Jose Wind Symphony
A classic by Eric Cook, "Bolivar" is full of Spanish flavor. It is performed here by the incredible Joe Alessi, principle trombonist with the NY Philharmonic, with whom we had the honor of playing on our concert of Feb. 21, 2010.
The man is an absolute machine. I have never heard someone play trombone like this, and to have him on our humble little stage was quite an honor.. and what a show!

If you think that's impressive, you should hear the third movement of the Trombone Concerto from the same concert! The man is truly worldclass. Nothing against your band's trombonists, but if anyone had half his ability, they'd all be first chair professional trombonists. It was so cool performing with him :)
