BZZZZZZZZ
“Hmm?”
After traversing the Labyrinths padded halls for what felt like hours, Sly soon began to notice a buzzing sound in the air. Confused, he looked around for the source but found nothing by the same bleach white walls around him.
WHRRRRR
Another sound, this time something louder and mechanical. The disturbance was coming from right behind the tabby and as he turned around he gasped as he saw one of the padded walls opening up. Thinking it was some kind of secret passage, the cat approached hole before the buzzing sound got louder and two shiny metal objects flew out. Sly yelped at the fast moving little devices before he realized that they were designed to look like large bumblebees. What made them far more peculiar was the large roll of bandages that they carried beneath them.
Not even a second later, the bee bots shot out their binding payload as the ends of the bandages somehow stuck onto the tabby’s fur. The cat let out a yelp of surprise as he tried to swat the bees down, but they flew around him too quickly and after they rotated around him a few times he found his movements becoming more and more restricted.
At first it started with his right arm being pinned to his body. Then some parts of his upper body and lower jaw were covered. No matter how many times Sly tried to impede the bees’ progress they zipped just past his reaching paw and continued without mercy.
“Wait! Someone hel-mmph!”
It wasn’t long before the bee bots had enshrouded the tabby in so many bandages that it was finally time to seal his muzzle. The imperiled labyrinth runner’s once gray body was now cast in white gauze as the bots continued with some finishing touches. Sly’s left hand and eye were still left uncovered but his struggling had all but ceased. The tabby could do nothing but try and maintain balance as the drones flew around him. With only five more rotations around the tomcat, Sly became a full mummy as the bee drones buzzed away deeper into the labyrinth, leaving him alone to his own devices.
Sly struggled fruitlessly as he fell to the ground in a heaving mess. His tiny, wrapped form struggled and squirmed on the padded floor as he tried to break free. He tried to call out for help, hoping that maybe another runner would find and free but his hopes were soon dashed as he heard another sound.
WHRRRRRR
The same mechanical whirring filled his ears as he frantically turned his wrapped head to try and locate the direction of the noise but it was no use. The sound was actually coming from beneath the distressed cat as the floor opened up and he was dropped into a containment unit to be transferred somewhere deeper into the Labyrinth.
