"Although many creatures are suitable for my experiments, I have never had the fortune to find one more suitable than Giah...that's the name I have decided to give her. I feel I have a bit more of a personal connection to her than most.

Extraordinarily large and corpulent toad species such as my own are actually more difficult to find that one might imagine. Many are just wild singular specimens, usually no longer alive or existent. So are a bit too volatile to use consistently like demons, although I surely do not mind having them here and there. The Toadpoli species is fitting for my needs. They are substantially larger compared to most regular toad species and are birthed in large numbers which makes them plentiful should you wish for so many.

However, I just required one and not just any one. I needed and adult specimen. These are a bit harder to find because they require a toapoli to live approximately a millennium. These adults are oddly called Deku Toads which I believe might be an error by whoever originally named it, for they have very little in common with the wooden, plantlike Deku species. Regardless, these mature toads are perfect in so many ways. They are quite large in size, nearly my original size and are naturally massively fat, also like myself. Once they reach this stage of their lives, they are practically invincible to any would be predators. Their hugely blubbery bodies are substantially durable and there is almost nothing that can penetrate it....also kind of like myself. Their skin also seems to be extremely, if not endlessly flexible. I have observed one consume a large amount of explosives, only to be stunned for a short duration before rising again.
Which leads me to one final perk they possess, at least a perk to my studies. They are not quite intelligent, most of their thoughts revolve around their gluttony which helps keep their form I suppose. They will eat just about anything they see.

I found Giah several years ago now. Seeing as she was so similar to myself, I decided to lure her in differently that most. Reverting to my old more toadly appearance, I managed to gain her trust. She has been with me ever since and has full faith in me. Am I ever so lucky for that. She proves to have a perfect body type for anything I wish to experiment with, even more than other Deku Toads. Her body is surprisingly magical absorbent and very compatible. If I didn't know any better, I would think she was an arcane toad like myself. She quite enjoys when I infuse her with spells. I myself try to make it a pleasurable experience as well for her.

It appears over time, my manipulation has altered her slightly. She appears to have latent magic power now, seeing as her as glow with the same arcane energy as mine. She has even used some very basic magic such as telekinesis. This implies that her intelligence has grown beyond what other of her species are capable of. Still not genius levels for sure but a pleasant surprise for sure.

I believe she sees me as her mate and loves being at my side. I must admit I do find myself stricken by her as well. I have obliged to her advances on me several times, never regretting it. It may be unprofessional to have such feeling for a test subject but I believe that I do. I do not answer to anyone though so I may treat any test subject as I please.

I truly believe Giah and I will have a very long lasting and fruitful time together."

End Grom lore dump journal. As some of you might know, I LOVE the deku toad. Such a wonderfully chunky thing. I decided to make one a more permanent character of mine albeit attached to Grom mostly. I will have more of her in the future.
