It's been a while since I just sat down and did one of these, as I uploaded all twelve strips at once the night I joined and I had them sitting on my hard drive for probably a month before then. It was nice to step back into Kazriya's world and take her along the next step of her journey...a journey which has only just begun with this strip.
The color is different here, and it took me a little getting used to. Had to play with the brightness levels for the first time since I started. If nothing else, this is a fairly creative way to learn Adobe Photoshop.
For those familiar with the Fallout worldscape, you'll realize just what I meant when I said I was shifting geographical waypoints around--this is, of course, not where the door she took is supposed to lead by Bethesda's design, but this suits me more nevertheless. I am using that world as a template and elevating it to where I need it to be.
It took a long time to decide where I was going have that door lead. I needed it to be somewhere natural, and I considered having her wake up in bed instead, somewhere else, a place with people and life. I ultimately discarded this alternate path and chose this one to add to the mystery of who she is, where she's going on what lies ahead. My other choice was one of the many subway routes dotted across the landscape, but I'm fairly pleased with this direction.
Soon she will meet her first living, breathing human being...
