01-17-20 [A pic Pyra made for me! :D ]
Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well I woke up around 2:30 because mum and dad always fall asleep with the TV on. Usually I can sleep through it but unfortunately dad put it on HGTV, and dang it I was too invested in the property flippers to get to sleep! D:
Also the skin on top of my left leg was acting really weird, and had gone completely numb, but that sorted itself out pretty quickly.
By about 3:30 I assumed I wasn't going to get to sleep, so I got on my phone and played KoL all morning. When mum's alarm went off around 4:15 I greeted her with a “Good morning sunshine!”, to which she flipped me off. :b
We got ready and I brushed my teeth and then we packed our luggage and I headed downstairs to the lobby to wait for everyone to arrive. A guy asked me if I was there for the 5 AM shuttle, but I told him the 5:30 one (after incorrectly saying yes). While waiting I saw the lobby had a big ol' fountain and they had a bunch of stuff stationed for a huge dart competition! Mum and dad had to take something out to their car, but I was able to relax in the lobby and soon everyone trickled in. Because I dun like coffee I opened a can of white Monster and drank that.
At around 5:30ish we all got on the shuttle and were goofy and excited for the trip! The van took us to the airport and it was surprisingly busy, but since dad's a Sky Miles guy, we were able to cut through the line pretty quick. After that we were corralled into a security line, and I said that such a pic would make a great Where's Waldo. We streamed around belt separators until we got to a spot where we had to walk two-by-two past a sniffing doge. After, we had to go do an X-Ray, and Levi, who was directly ahead of me, set it off 'cause his bag had a water bottle he forgot about inside.
After sorting through that we headed to our terminal and along the way we saw loads of skeletons inside the airport! We took those fast conveyor walk paths but mum didn't so she had to run beside us to keep up. When we got there, we had not much to do so we sat down and waited. It was a bit busy so we sat in a nearby one, but eventually they called us to board and we funneled on in. I sat beside Amber, who sat beside Levi, and I was in the aisle seat. My seatbelt was a bit too tight and made me feel kinda bad, but I managed to play a game of Cultural IQ (I got a 40 on it! It said I did well since I only missed 2 of the 10 questions!) and then a game that was like Geoguesser but you had to find the site it was describing...I largely did well on that!
However as we flew I felt a bit bleh, so I had to stop and close my eyes. The Cheese-Its we got and the Sprite helped a lot, but my tum was none too happy, and I felt super relieved when we landed. We didn't have far to walk but we also had a flight that would soon be leaving. I asked sister Alecia what would help tummy problems, and she gave me a pill that she said would help and also knock me out. I took it and waited in the terminal while they got food ('cause mum and dad were able to board early, having been upgraded to First Class). They got back and this time I sat beside Debbie who was beside Alecia.
This seatbelt also was too snug, so I got an extender (lol fatty noodle), and that helped...Then I think I nodded off before we took off. It wasn't a comfortable sleep but it was sleep, and I only really woke up for food (which was a spicy chicken wrap with a few grapes and a strawberry). Alecia tried waking me up to see the landing, but I did such in Florida!
When we got there mum was the first to get off the plane, and this plane didn't have a gangplank but instead had stairs leading down to the tarmac. We got off and were herded into a bus like sardines, then went to the security place. We all went to the bathroom while mum waited in line, then we got back in and they checked our passports and we got our bags and headed outside to the Avis car rental shuttle wait area. It took a little bit for them to show (island time) but we all eventually got inside and were taken to the place to rent cars. They upgraded us to 2 SUVs and I got to drive the blue one (License was 1012). I'm sure the guy signing me up was a little alarmed to be signing up a guy with an eyepatch!
That took a lot of time too, but we eventually got our cars and were ready...Except mine had a weird E-brake that dad had to come help me fix...Then from there, we were off!
The island's road systems were not nightmarish, but a bit hectic...Crowded and aggressive and really bad road layout creating blindspots, but I was able to navigate them simply enough. One really bad blind spot, however, put us turning left onto a busy street where the left was blocked by a massive stone wall and the right by a curve on a hill. Sister said that it would take 2 extra minutes to turn right, so we turned right, and I am pretty glad we did because en route there, we saw monkeys! Debbie saw one but her brother's frand (boyfrand) Keith said that monkeys were not native, and I said possibly they were invasive...Well sure enough as we drove we saw a whole pack of them beside the road, just sitting and being silly! Also we saw lots of doggies!
We all felt relieved to get to the house, and I pretty much decided that the temperature was sooo nice I'd want to sleep outside. Mum and dad and Debbie and Alecia and Keith headed to the supermarket while I relaxed outside and read. The cleaning lady came by to put water in the pool and then after she left everyone arrived with loads of groceries! We put them away then made pizzas, and I swear I ate like 8 slices!
After, I headed upstairs and went to the bathroom and did my nodl typing, then after that I went outside and went to sleep...
...Or I tried to. It was super comfy and I was able to actually nod off, but sometime a bit after midnight it started to rain and I had to wiggle back inside. I relaxed on the couch and mum came out of her room and made fun of me, then I read my book and finished it! I really liked Annihilation and wanna read more of the books in the series! Eventually, I wound up heading to bed around 3 AM.
I hope everyone has a Sint Maarten arriving day! <333
