Sorry. Just being honest. Jirachi has been given away for free to anyone who preordered Pokemon Colosseum. I got it just for Jirachi. The game made me think I was having a bad trip though.

Not to barge in or anything... But the Jirachi that Nyar was talking about is a special Jirachi Gamestop gave away that's used to open certain pokewalker courses for Heart Gold and Soul Silver. The Jirachi that was given away with Pokemon Colosseum won't do that.

Pokemon Soul Silver and Heart Gold come out on DS. They're remakes of the old versions for game boy Color. Repackaging at it's finest. :P (will still probably get it) xD

I picked Chimchar because it is a tradition of mine to always pick the fire type, and I basically fucked myself. Infernape is, thus far, the weakest starter I have ever had.
EVER.

And yet Infernape is the strongest of the 4th Gen starters, if only because we've had a Fire/Fighting starter in the last gen to sort of pave the way.

Torterra is just way too slow for a Grass type, and Empoleon, while it has decent stats...that Steel typing doesn't do it any favors whatsoever.

I think really that the combinations were just really BAD this time around. Who mixes water with steel? No, SERIOUSLY. Yes, let us QUADRUPLE its weakness to electricity, mmhmm sounds good to me.

I stick with my normal types. Solid stats and speed, with decent resistances to most types. And you can teach them TMs for special moves to wipe out harder Pokes like a Steelix (or something) if you need to.

Empolean isn't quad weak to Electric, it just takes normal super-effective. I find the added weaknesses to Ground and Fighting to be problematic though.

And honestly I just like Torterra for the unique typing, even if it is a shitty type combo. (Yes, let's give people even more reason to give every pokemon they own Ice Beam.)

I've got starter ideas on my page. A Grass/Dragon (shut up, I know it's another 4x Ice weakness), a Fire/Ghost, and a Water/Fighting. It's also where I got the idea for Sound type; wanted to not only give pokemon like Chatot and Exploud reason to keep sound-related moves aside from novelty, but also had an idea for a mandrake-based chain of Grass/Sound types. IIRC, Sound would be effective against Water, Ice, and Psychic, resisted by Rock, Ground, and Steel, resistant to Water, Psychic, and Dark, and weak to Flying, Rock, and Steel.

I wanna see a fighting/ghost something fierce. But good god, if they made one it'd be a crime for it not to have some sort of tribute to Kamina from Gurren Lagann's shades in its design.

I'm sorry but whut? Call me crazy but so far Squirtle/Wartortle, Totosile/Feraligatr, and Torterra have been the only starter evos I've liked in the Pokemon franchise. Usually, their designs suck something awful. ANd if Infernape was the weakest starter you've ever had... Christ man, as a species weren't they actually made stronger than Blaziken was? You probably got a bad nature or some bad IVs that screwed it up. Or maybe it's just not your poke, personally I've always found Lucarios worthless in singles battles but people love 'em and seem to say they're pretty mighty.

... But I digress. Turtle-dinosaur, with a fucking continent on its back. Fuck yeah, man. With how TALL it was, you could have small picnics on that thing's back.

Reset game, and now they are eggs again!
