There's an old, often forgotten aesthetic that desperately needs a revival. You know the one, I'm sure. It quickly died after the 1990s, but there are traces of it in laser tag arenas, bowling alleys, roller rinks, and some arcades. Black lights, neon, lasers, strobes, fluorescent paint, fog machines, the faint smell of cigarette smoke ground into the fluorescent carpeting, and lots and lots of plastic aliens in gaudy glowing neon colors! These days, it's called... SPACE GRUNGE!
Maybe I'm crazy, 'cause everyone else basically said "let's leave this aesthetic in the '90s," and I said "okay, but, here's an idea... what if we don't instead?" What can I say? It's really neat to see how Earth people see life from other worlds! I'm THRIVING! This aesthetic celebrates "aliens" like me, and I LIVE FOR IT! Bonus points to anyone who can recognize what I've got in my mouth in this pic!
