Taking splice's advice and trying a flash animated version. It certainly is a smaller file! It's about a 90% file size reduction, not sure about the quality...
I guess for the benefit of FA's servers, I should start doing them all this way. ;) Maybe I will redo some of the others, too.

Thanks for the props :) I tried making my other animations into flash files, but there was hardly any savings on them compared to GIF, only the horse head one. I think it's because they are photos, the compression works better. The Allosaurus animation as flash was actually larger than the GIF :o
I have been thinking of writing a tutorial. :) What I'm doing here is not hard at all, but it just takes a lot of time.
