Technically in LC she did cheat on Shin with Miles, though this retcons that somewhat by saying he was ok with it. If she cheated on Miles or wanted to be in a open relationship with him and he didn't (which I think is what her last line might be implying) remains to be seen

I assumed she and Shin had already split up, or had never gotten together the way her dialogue strung together. It sounded like she was trying to get over having someone she couldn't have or at least have forever before she and Miles hooked up.

LC clearly showed that Shin had no idea Hope was even with Miles.

Mostly means she'd deal with the temptation more. But that doesn't mean she would be unfaithful. It mostly depends on how she went about it, if she had conversations and such she was involved with about it and consent for all involved.

Well of course there must be honesty and consent about what type of relationship they are going into. If she intended to be polyamorous and wasn't honest about it sure, that's a problem. It's uncertain from what she says what happened. Maybe there was consent but then regret. These things happen.

Pretty much what you described. Going from one partner to the other without sticking with any one. Different than poly in that you only have that one partner at any given time.

Also, the unfaithful part has more to do with cheating that polyamory vs monogamy or open vs closed. Cheating is cheating, no matter what relationship style you have and is not okay.

Not all poly relationships are open, technically. Some have closed relationships just like monogamy may be an open or closed relationship.

I assume they split because of something Miles did. The way what's her name... the techy who fixed Digit acted toward Miles, it sounds like he really burned a lot of bridges before quitting school. This IS Miles we're talking about, if not for his Author's pet status, he wouldn't be as fucking lucky as he is.

Her name is Tiare, and that's assuming what she said was true. Since LC took place some time before LL it's possible that her recollection of events isn't perfect, nobody has a photographic memory after all.

In the comic, she was with Shin first and then moved on to Miles for reasons. She could maybe have gone back to Shin, or maybe someone else.

I was loosely re-reading her answer and I found a detail that got me wondering. Learning Curve is not mostly not-canon or totally not-canon? Hope says that when she ultimately ended up having sex with Shin it was their first time, but in LC her first time was with Miles. So I guess now that bit of the past is... not-canon?

Based on her dialogue, Hope pretty much implies in LC when she's with Miles she ISN'T a virgin, and upon knowing Miles IS, wanted to make sure it was good for him, and he wasn't going to regret anything. Very much a 'I'll show you the ropes' kind of dialogue of the more experienced of the pair.

Really like this. Hope looks amazing and while her and her clans world view might not be like by everyone I thinks it's good. I mean they are called the love clan, so this does make sense

Who is Shin? And what about Miles?

Shin Aryoko is one of the characters in Learning Curves and he's the son of Kate Aryoko (Crest of Light) and Bengala. He was in a relationship with Hope like stated in the reply and, from my understanding, they broke in friendly manners (still, I think Hope feels guilty about it).
Miles was also in Learning Curves as it happens before he left Prism Uni. He was in a 'friends with benefit' kind of relationship with Hope.

So, she might be polyamorous?
