The innocence of youth. The obliviousness of what is going on around her except that of the rattle she so desperately needs. Her tail playing keep away at Taylor's expense, probably going to result in a tantrum in a minute. The trappings of a loving household for a child so unique to have a tailmaw. A child unlike any other in the entire world. One born to a mother who has no idea how it happened or how to take care of it. How does one nurture and raise a child with a feature so unearthly? How does one protect a child such as Taylor from the world and its harsh realities against anything that is different? How can her future life, career and dreams even happen now that her home has been upended with a surprise so unexpected? How can two parents deal with a situation so unprecedented that no one has any answers? Where do they go from here?

Closure as in displaying my own feelings as a parent growing with my own children who were diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Now granted, having a tailmaw does not equate to having autism, of course, but the connection is there where you are given a child whom you were not expecting and must continually love them regardless and adapt to the difficulties they will face alongside yourself. This image encapsulates the early years of parenting with special needs children. It is rough, it is exhausting and it is full of mental despair. As much as I am ashamed to admit, those feelings come and go, but as long as we continue to shower love on the children, they will nourish and grow...it'll just take more out of us than most parents.
They deal with it by loving their daughter and being there for her like any good parent. There is no "Guide to Parenting" that's 100% accurate. every child is as unique as their parents. All they need to do is love their child. Nothing worth doing is ever easy. If they question why the gods gave them such a child, well, maybe they thought they were the best choice for such a child.
