The designers at Lego did an amazing job of replicating this iconic Ford with their building blocks. It’s quite intricate with a trunk, hood, and doors that open. Not only do the wheels roll, but the front ones are actually connected to the steering wheel.
The model is 13-1/2 inches long, 5-1/4 inches wide and is made up of 1471 individual parts. Although that’s fewer than the 1969 parts of my Saturn V, it took me just as long to build: approximately 7-1/2 hours not counting breaks. The rear suspension is adjustable and a knob underneath will lift the rear bumper up to 1/2 inch higher. The model is sturdy and weighs in at 2 pounds, 4 ounces.

Man, this is far from those 100-piece Lego boxes we used to have! Every car I tried to make with those looked like a cross between the Partridge Family bus and a Russian limousine...all flat, square angles and primary colours ha!
This actually reminds me more of the model kits of cars and ships I built as a kid. In fact this strikes me as a nice clean alternative if there's no smelly, messy glue or paint involved. Hmmm...now I'm curious to try one!
