A knife missile. From Iain M. Banks books on the "Culture".
A sentient artificial intelligence about equivalent to an average human. Designed as a reconnaissance and offensive weapon. Generally uses force fields to make razor like cuts through objects while flying past. Very agile and capable of hypersonic speeds in near silence by displacing thin layers of atmosphere in front of its flight path and replacing them behind.
This one decided to show off a bit and it's rosy red fields show it to be very happy with itself. After all, "The way to a man's heart is through his chest!"
