The stratostar class is a shardship, meaning it has no pilot core, but is remotely controlled over a lightline network.

This model was adapted from the military nighthunter class and is now a civillian surveyor.
The original nighthunter was already an athmospheric vessel and designed to outturn and outmanouver all other hunter shards it might encounter.
This advantage made it an ideal candidate.
With three regrav engines already in place and improved plating the stratostar is able to dive deep into the athmosphere of gas giants to scan for rare elements to harvest.
A probe container and internal lab is placed in the former lower missile bay.

the stratostar class is classified as a microshard as it weighs fully equipped just under 50t.
