To say that Cro was surprised was an understatement. He'd been here before, of course, fighting his way into the depths of Tseldora to liberate a Great Soul from the shattered husk of a monstrous two-headed spider. It wasn't an experience he wanted to repeat.
Unfortunately, after linking the fire and plunging Drangleic into an even deeper, more powerful version of the curse, that's exactly what he was stuck doing. Everything was tougher, nastier, and this was sure to be no exception. The nasty arachnid bitch (and she didn't even have the decency to come with a sexy top half like Quelaag had!) probably had even more reinforcements this time like some of the other enemies he'd encountered
Well... she did have new company. They didn't seem hostile though... and even if they were they were a little caught up in something. Despite the massive, seven tons of pissed-off spider that was barreling towards him, Cro found himself staring in red-faced shock at the two struggling captives. How a pair of desert sorceresses managed to get themselves all the way to Tseldora was a mystery alright, but the real question was what to do with them. Would they be thankful for the rescue? Or would they immediately return to their indiscriminate fire-slinging ways? He REALLY wasn't in the mood to catch a fireball with his snout.
A fierce, almost indignant shriek interrupted his thoughts, and he barely had time to leap back and away from the spider's massive legs gouging furrows into the ground as she tried to impale him. Right. First things first. Squash the spider, THEN rescue the damsels and hope they were in a celebratory mood. He could certainly think of a few kinds of... jolly cooperation they could engage in...
So this was an extremely awesome birthday gift from my friend
rdc088 Even though we've partnered our way through every Fromsoft game, DS2 remains my favorite, and he came up with quite the lovely peril for a couple damsels to find themselves in. If only From had thought of that, so busy putting in extra red phantoms to the NG+ boss fights, when they could've added a couple friendly phantoms that you had to liberate before they joined your side. Ahh well, hindset is 20/20
