The guy's a pirate hunter, a privateer with a very vast history where he defeated numerous crews from pirates, only with his own hand and his incredible strength.
Many say that his temperament is not the best, but he is competent at what he does, which is to stop pirates.

Woods also has an interesting habit, he keeps the hat of each pirate captain he defeated as a trophy, as a personal collection.
I don't even need to say that he hunts Robert, after all he killed Robert's father, but he won't be satisfied when he's done with his son. After all who was this pirate, for Woods both want to go after your child? Well I'll leave that for another story hehe
