Sleepwalk
This is an oooooldie that I just never finished. I actually got through a fair portion of the lineart, or at least for the first part

As you can see not only is the whole sketch really redundant now since it was one of the first pictures I drew after my last artist study and style change so I was pretty unfamiliar with the new style, but the linework was also pretty atrocious in some places.
so eventually I just decided... do just redo the entire thing.
well, I redid all the linework at least. I updated and fixed the sketches, redoing where necessary.
I'm much much much happier with the new version and it's nice seeing it finished. I think given how long I wanted to finish this one made my expectations kinda high and I couldn't help being a little critical of myself after it was done, but I think it came out pretty nicely.
I'm trying to nail down that design for Anika cus she's gone through a couple design changes. this one was based off that solo pic of her with a rather full belly.
Oh speaking of which, while I normally leave this up to the viewer, so all the vore fans can imagine the follow up however they want, I do want to say with this one at least that it was fully my intention that Fluttershy is in no danger. This is, I think, supposed to be when she first met this snake, from what I can remember. and Anika really didn't intend to harm Fluttershy, and she didn't. She just likes playing sometimes, it doesn't always resort to swallowing with Anika, she loves playing.
Even so I like to imagine that even though she normally acts like any other snake, which is to say, relentlessly 'flirting' with her hypnosis and playing with her 'food' trying to get ponies to let down their guard and get them in her coils, I like to imagine that if somepony was just straight up with her like "Look I really don't have time right now, I mean it, I'm serious" I think she'd totally back off like "Oh, okay! Good luck" lol maybe even escort them out of the forest lol
she isn't a totally evil snake. buuut sometimes she gotta eat of course.
anywho in this instance she was just making friends with a cute yellow pony who looked like she'd be toootally soft and cuddly to hug. (and she was. Fluttershy so soft)
Let me know if you guys want me to do a follow up with a full coil hug X3
Oh and yes, this is based off of the 2nd Kaa encounter in the jungle book. Y'all know us kaafans looove re-adapting the scenes with Kaa XD Even if it's sometimes with different snakes.
I liked the idea of doing a short wordless comic just trying to illustrate the lil sleepwalking hypnosis without getting too into details. Pretty happy with how it came out.

Not gonna lie, Anika really does seem like the kind of snake it'd be nice to just relax with, trust and let her enjoy doing her thing, she really does seem like a disarmingly adorable darling from start to finish, whichever finish she decides to do... be it snuggling, sharing warmth of a mammal or.. snacktime.. xD

I can't help but think of two things when I look at this.
#1: That time Discord corrupted all the ponies with hypnosis but failed miserably to do it to Fluttershy.
#2: Fluttershy has her own kind of hypnotic stare.
So on the one hand, I don't think Fluttershy would ever get hypnotized... But that just makes this even better because it means she's just playing and/or trying to be nice. Which is exactly what I would expect her to do in such a scenario.

But I have never nor will I ever believe that"THE STARE" is a hypnotic power. it's literally just the mum glare XD
it has power over animals because of Fluttershy's nature not because of it being some kind of magic. It's not like Pinkie Sense lol
I see it as the equivilant to the parent "I'm just disappointed" power XD
Secondly, I don't think having hypnotism makes you immune, but perhaps to have some resistances.
So let's pretend the stare somehow is a magical power, as an example though even where I have all these snakes with magic that lets them entrance ponies to make them hepless and/or obedient... the snakes CAN in fact hypnotise each other. (but not themselves). How much resistance they have though is based on their own will and power, and it's a lot harder to create that eye-lock fascination, where another creature might find it impossible to look away unless they have a lot of will, the snakes are rarely ever locked to it truly and it's more like standard fascination, like being fixated on a TV when you walk through the room haha
It depends on the snake though, like my shy bean Cal is probably more subceptable to other snakes and is not very good at using hypnosis.
(I also had a story I tried to make ages ago and had been trying to rewrite it a little while back where this girl gets transformed into a naga, and it's only then that we witness in narrative a scene of her and the rest of the class getting hypnotised at school and see how she has struggles with memory and is getting confused, but because she's a naga she is eventually able to snap her mind from the programming and realise what happened, while her friends don't remember and are just repeating the lines they're told to say etc.)
But yes Fluttershy in my eyes is absolutely in no way immune to hypnosis, FAR from it.

Twilight Sparkle has dozens of scenes where she pretty much attributes everything to magic. And for this, I usually think of how a lot of RPG and/or tabletop games differentiate between "active" skills, which require the command, and "passive" skills which are active by default. Fluttershy's affinity for animals being one of the latter.
What I'd speculate about Fluttershy is that she is absolutely oozing with passive gentleness vibes (for lack of a better word) that set everyone around her at ease, which then allows her to take everyone completely off guard by suddenly being firm or loud (another example being the dragon she scolded into submission).
You could probably attribute her (apparent) immunity to influence (but not forced magical corruption, to which Discord eventually resorted) to just being a byproduct of her personality. As in you don't really need to hypnotize Fluttershy because she's naturally complacent.
What I'd speculate about Fluttershy is that she is absolutely oozing with passive gentleness vibes (for lack of a better word) that set everyone around her at ease, which then allows her to take everyone completely off guard by suddenly being firm or loud (another example being the dragon she scolded into submission).
You could probably attribute her (apparent) immunity to influence (but not forced magical corruption, to which Discord eventually resorted) to just being a byproduct of her personality. As in you don't really need to hypnotize Fluttershy because she's naturally complacent.
Still, I see the snake hypnosis and such as being a very particular thing
there's some magic science going on about it trying to physically lock the target's eyes, and all the stuff it does to their brain whuile this is going on
but it's a ery physical feeling. Fluttershy is absolutely the kidn of pony to be easily swayed by these nice and relaxing feelings, the growing sense of ease, dizziness, relaxation, pleasure, comfort, and a growing sense of distance from responsibility, decision or consquence, creating a sense of freedom
Along with, as I like to think of it, a growing sense of infatuation towards the snake, a quickly shrinking desire to resist (as all attempts to make the brain do the bad chemicals, and every thought about giving in make the brain do the good chemicals.)
The hypnosis quickly makes them complacent, apathetic, sluggish, fatigued, and basically feeling wonderful, satisfied and in great pleasure.
So the logner it goes on the harder it is to think, the harder it is to mount a defence, and the more you want to lose.
And I definitely see the squishy floppy yellow pegasus as being meek enough and loving enough to just melt into all those feelings and enjoy the soft sensory cuddles of the snake's coils, the added feeling of safety and portectio nalso making her anxious-ass feel at ease lol.
In fact, that's kinda what I wanted to depict here. Anika made Fluttershy feel free and comfortable, so the pony was more than happy to not only let go of her fears and inhibitions but also her mind and just sink into bliss for a while. No thoughts, head empty.
