I see you tried to make the hand shape and draw it. However that is from your point view and not the character's. This makes it look weird like the arms are inverted. Try mimicking the hand position in front of the mirror instead. You can't present finger heart shape to a viewer with thumb and index finger because the heart will look towards the character. However, it could be done with thumb and pinky finger.

HAHAHA! Wow! That explains it! You're right, it's inverted! Now I know why it didn't feel right! Thanks! Wow though, talk about forgetting basics. :P
