Leather is so much nicer against the skin then heavy nylon or canvas: one reason why all the work gloves and most all of my shoes are always leather.
Now; what were your complaints against shaving? Other then the razor burn, which I cannot see, I think a clean shaven face suits you; as does Parkour it seems.
