He's an adorable alien "Border Collie" from another planet!
He always tends to show up to save us from crime when Ben leaves the room, though.
It sucks; he never gets to meet him! :(

*a familiar blue blur comes by and takes care of the bad guy*

Hey, you kinda remind me of him!
He's got pretty bluish-black fur like that! And, light blue eyes!

CG: Uhhhh... L-Lots of Border Collies look like me! N-Not that I'm a Border Collie, that's ridiculous!

You even sound like him! With the British accent and the stuttering when he's nervous!

CG: (drops the act) IT'S NOT ME PIERROT, SHUT UP! *covers mouth* ...

Sorry for my bad role play.

Captain Galaxy (aka Captain Collie as a joke) is the physical representation of a JOKE I SKETCHED AGES AGO with his human form and me reading superhero prompts on OTPPrompts.
(Shhh... I know a comic existed with that name in the 50's, but it didn't take off, so it's mine now. >:D)

So, long ago, in July 2019, I became obsessed with Olimar from Pikmin fame. I even have a little Amiibo of him on my desk! I eventually made a Pikmin AU for WTFF which I regret now, because I invested too much time and energy into a property I don't own and can't use without Nintendo being up my arse. So, near the end of my Pikmin craze, I made Captain Ben (who was ANOTHER JOKE I MADE, with me drawing Ben as Olimar, which kickstarted the Pikmin AU) a superhero due to a prompt on OTPPROMPTS. The joke was that it was obviously him, because he was wearing his frickin' work suit. Dumbass. But, I digress.

The Pikmin AU is no more, but the idea of Ben being a superhero stuck in my head and I tried giving him a more general design (and maybe making a new AU with the same writing? Poor Winky. :( ). One of the doodles I did involved him wearing a pilot Captain's hat and (with annoyance to an off-screen person) answering their question about if he were a real Captain or not. (Yes.) This is why he has the pilot's uniform on top of his spacesuit. (Originally, he didn't have the hat, but instead pushed up fluffy strawberry blond hair (that made him look different somehow... 🤦) but now he only has that little Mario tuft in the back now! :D

This in turn resulted in me giving Ben a permanent job for once: He's a airline pilot now! :D

This version of Ben- err, I mean, "Captain Galaxy" is an alien "Border Collie" (he's not really a dog, but a *groans, I hate when I do stupid, dorky names for stuff and I'm embarrassed about them later...* fess, "Galaxian" who has a backstory similar to that of Krypto's, to say the least. 😬 (on ship doing delivery, planet go bye-bye due to evil invaders (nuuu doggo planet! D: ), he searched for new home to no avail, ship runs out of gas, crashlands on Earth). His suit is already a Captain's uniform, but he felt it looked "plain" in comparison to other superheroes, so he later acquires that cute hat and coat from... Uh... eBark? Idk. But, wait! Everyone'll recognize him (and let's ignore the fact they sniff bottoms as a greeting!), so he'll need a mask, too! ...leftover replacement fabric for his suit will work! And, a snazzy Cape! Hmm. To eBark again!

Luckily for him, the aliens on Earth speak a similar language as he does, looks like him, eat similar food, it's perfect! ...what? He's not the alien, WE are! With our red blood, mostly singular organs, and other physical anomalies! We ALL belong in Area 51! (A place he fears deeply. 😬) (Yeek, don't mention it! I don't want to end up there!)

How'd he get his powers? Eh, a mixture of being in our solar system/Earth's atmosphere and stardust. *shrugs* That doesn't matter! He's a cute doggo that can use a power similar to Swift from Pokémon! Don't question it! (I think I brainstormed him being "normal" on his planet and gaining powers from Earth's atmosphere. Something like that. Possibly the reason he's the last of his kind is because the bad guys that killed everyone off knew this and didn't want any trouble. Maybe they'll come to finish the job if they find out about him...?)

Lastly, that collar around his neck isn't for show; it's actually the controls for his suit. One button's to sheathe/unsheathe his helmet (and the bit of suit that covers his tail), so he's fully protected from the void of space! (WHY DO SO MANY FURRIES IGNORE THIS?!) Another's to store his suit. That way he can quickly change from hero to z- oh.
In the back, is a filter. Why run out of air with a tank, when you can just filter it? Quite useful for when you're stranded on a planet because a Japanese water demon wants to kill you! :D (...how the external clothes get sheathed, I'll never know.)
