Sketch 95 - Kinuko strikes
Here's my tigress ninja whom I have decided to name Kinuko. There are a few things I don't like about how this one came out. BUt on the whole it turned out ok I think.

I'm sure there are a few others who share your interest, and maybe I'll get off my lazy tail and do so. These ninjas exist in the same setting as my characters Nightmare, Anubis, and Chaos Cougar. A setting that I have been slowly writing more about. But lately I've been lazy on writing cause I've been working on my art.
Good idea, because If your interested, I thought up some characters that I think would be the perfect adversaries for them. But like I said this is your story, you decide what happens. The following is just an idea I had regarding your universe.
Remember a little ways back when I linked you this video?

I thought to myself, these guys remind me of that Megapolis universe, with them destroying a museum and all. Then I thought to myself, that you could use a somewhat dopey villain to be kind of a comedy relief.
So I imagined the gang as the following species:
Jack Nicholson-Bornean Orang
Bob-Sumatran Orang
Lawrence- Sasquatch
Ball cap thug- Gorilla
Guy with candles- Gibbon
Other goons- Chimps and Bonobos
I feel a comical male Ape gang would the perfect counterparts to the serious Kitsune and his female ninjas, yet being able to fight back hard, because Apes are strong and have opposable feet.
But like I said its just an idea I had. Its your story, your call, friend.

Okay, you should sound more satisfied about this drawing. First of all, action poses are not an easy thing to master. It looks like you've got the general idea down, which is admirable.
I'm gonna nitpick a bit, okay? Hope you don't get mad at me.
First of all, her anatomy has a coupla errors. The most blatant one is that her head a little bit too big in comparison to everything else. Her feet are also a tiny bit too small, accented even more so because of the head.
Masterful job on the sash, sword and clothes in overall. The tail's a little basic, but who cares about that.
The pose seems correct from this angle... I'd have to be Leonardo DaVinci to have the nerve to nitpick about that.
Another really gawking shortcoming would be her hair... It's a little too static.
She's supposed to be striking, yes? Her fixed hair makes it looks like she's just posing. It also clashes with the flow of the clothes and elevation of the tail.
Also I just noticed she's wearing a rag thing over her mouth. That's awesome. xD
I should just shut up every once in a while, huh?

*chuckles* I think you hit the flaws on the head. Literally. Yeah proportions are often my flaw, especially the head. And hair I need alot more work on the dynamic thing. Basic one character poses I'm getting down well. But need to keep working on these couple of things.
As for sounding satisfied, *chuckles* what artist is fully satisfied with their art? And I will admit I'm a bit of a pessimist about my own works. But on the bright side that keeps my trying to improve.

Oh, yes. There's always room to improve. What would be the point of art if we were all great from the get-go?
If you think you're bad at anatomy, you should take a look at my drawings. For me, anatomy is a sick stepdad who loves kicking my ass around like a red-headed stepchild.
Oh, I didn't mean to imply you should be completely full of yourself over this drawing, I meant that your description of it didn't seem too content with it, even though it's a real good drawing.

I just go out and look at pose refs and people in life. Learned about "Gesture drawing" at Furry Fiesta last weekend, which is nothing more then drawing a stick figure of a RL pose to get it down in a few seconds. I also read ALOT of books about drawing. Love the ones from http://www.antarctic-press.com/ I might not use everything in any one book, but I take a piece here and a piece there. And little by little it adds up.
