Taken at the Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio.
YF-23 PAV-1 is the first of two YF-23 prototypes, and powered by the Pratt & Whitney F119, the same engine that currently powers the F-22A and powered YF-22 PAV-1.
The aircraft competed against the YF-22 and lost the ATF competition in 1991. Stored for several years at Edwards AFB with NASA intending to use the aircraft as a research platform. These plans never materialized and the aircraft was stored, then taken to the museum. restored and put on display.
