I actually read the watership down book years ago, assuming it was about nautical maneuvers, but was not familiar with the animated version and didn't realize I was drawing a specific character until I asked afterward!

Yes I did see that much of it, I am uncertain why i didn't recognize that I was drawing the character from it! That may be for the best, though, sometimes; i have a terrible habit of trying to adhere too closely to source material and producing an uninteresting image.
The cartoon's voiceovers for the main characters bothered me and I lacked the interest to finish. It was one of a few rare situations i had previously read the book version, and didn't look forward to griping over the story differences if I was already annoyed.
