Terror Mike was not initially destined to become a founding member of Apocalypse-86. During his teen years, the broad-shouldered buck was a star running back for his high school football team, earning the urban and underfunded campus a new prominence as he lead his team to overnight success. Known simply as Tyrell Mikel Turney back then, his ultra-aggressive style of play soon earned him the nickname "Tyrell the Terror," due to his habit of taking his defensive pursuers head-on. Tyrell didn't juke, Tyrell didn't jive; Tyrell put his head down and ran right through you. His success on the field earned him a something unknown to most rats in the country - a college education. Tryell confirmed what he had always known, that the powers that be could find a certain usefulness in the manual labor offered by his kind. His painful and hard-hitting performance became a spectacle to behold in the world of collegiate sports, but the on-field tactics which made him a star would eventually take their toll, sidelining the young buck with head and neck injuries.
Unable to continue his onslaught on the field, he shifted focus to his studies, taking advantage of the opportunities afforded by his physicality that he could never obtain though his merely-fair academics. Tyrell discovered the school's music department - and its many mixing boards and turn tables. Having dabbled with rhymes and verses throughout his high school days, Tryell didn't take long to impress his peers not only with his compositions but also his quick-witted and unusually politically conscious lyrics. It was during this time that Tryell became fascinated with studying public speakers and world leaders, especially the spread of propaganda - the very same which had afforded his species more than a century of marginalization through the leaders chosen by those around him. He studied their body language, diction, inflections, everything that could command the attention of dozens, hundreds, thousands, or even millions. Incorporating these tactics into his raps, Tyrell found he could manipulate the attention and commandeer the eyes of his audience, all while discretely imparting his words and messages into their minds. It wouldn't take long for the rat to leave football behind in favor of a higher calling, salvaging only a piece of his athletic past to craft a new identity - Terror Mike.
Terror Mike's stage presence is best described as confrontational - his combative gestures and movements providing the physical manifestation of the vocal war he wages against conventional wisdom. Within a community known for its stoic, soft-spoken people, Mike both intrigued and terrified audiences with his energetic and athletic showmanship. Terror Mike's paw gestures, designed to capture the imagination of his audience, led to what was deemed by mainstream pundits as 'gang symbols,' a typical attempt to demonize an undesirable's rapidly ascending influence. Contributing to his intimidating presence, Terror Mike keeps his body shape in what he describes as 'battle ready,' encouraging his followers to do the same, warning of the need for preparedness against the many enemies and threats against his community. This is demonstrated with his various shows of athleticism on stage or in video, jumping and ricocheting off of walls or speakers, performing spin kicks, vaulting fences and vehicles, or anything else afforded to him by his toned and conditioned body. He is also known for his animalistic pacing back and forth, particularly while waiting for his queue to come in or during another member's verse. This was seen especially during the group's early tours, wherein Terror Mike would be housed inside of a metal cage before being released by a fellow bandmate, after the audience is given fair warning. This presented the audience with a seemingly feral-like rage within him, soon to erupt as soon as he raised the microphone to his lips. He popularized the sideways thumb "equality" gesture, which he flashes repeatedly on stage and in music videos.
Terror Mike is the primary lyricist for Apocalypse-86, basing his verses on topics presented to him by his bandmates, or from his own mind. The group innovated the use of heavily political themes in hip-hop, making unapologetically inflammatory remarks about society's treatments of marginalized groups, especially rats. The lyrics often call out favored species such as rabbits and red foxes, the disingenuous nature of mice, who are favored over rats, and is even critical of some of the self-destructive habits committed by the rat community itself. Terror Mike's unusually low tone of voice (relative to his species) makes his words more stark and distinct. The loud and rageful denunciation of social convention helped establish Apocalypse-86 as a musical haven for underprivileged species and an existential threat for societal norms.
I sell fear to the pointed ear
This ain't your magic mirror
And when the end is near
The obsolete will bring the rear
Killer in a heros' suit is gonna shoot
Keep the skin tails on mute
Tell a story on the 5 o'clock
Subordinate damn sure ain't gonna refute
Saving what I am
through busted lips
Can't go on like this
In the world that allowed the whips
Bringing the end
With a verse that rips
My people dying by design
Praying for the Apocalypse

Yeah no reference here, I guess just trial and error over the year. I think the main issue with foreshortening (thanks for reminding me what to call it) is that it challenges your perception of how things look and you automatically want to draw that arm at its standard in-profile length. And even when you do try to adjust for perspective, you're too afraid of overdoing it, so you undersell the effect. I eventually had to tell myself to err on the side of too much instead of too little, since the former would give me a better idea of what I was at least trying to do.
Now as a special bonus, let us take a look at foreshortening gone wrong at a professional level, with Scorpion's arm on the cover of Mortal Kombat 9: https://i11a.3djuegos.com/juegos/44.....9_-1859740.jpg
