Eh, understandable. So on a genuinely serious note: have you considered color coding with their outfits?
Like you were talking about Frozen; the first ever Frozen 2 trailer had Elsa wearing that short dress with leggings. (And barefoot of course, but who would notice that!) But even though it isn't a flowing dress the look is still clearly 'Elsa'.
Also quite a few of the princesses have iconic looks outside their gown. Like how Belle has her blue commoner clothes, Cinderella has her maid apron and nightie, Ariel has her seashell bra, that sort of thing. There's still a lot of options you have if the frilled dress look is that difficult.
