Yiradae: "... ...PICTURE TIIIIIIIIME BD~!" *pulls her guy over*
Guy: "Uhm... Okay. Uh.. ... Like this?"

This is the lineart for a picture that I have been working on for the past few days. It is a picture of Nagala's and Misara's mother and father not long before they were born, and unfortunately not long before the day their parents died either.
First time drawing a snake-girl~ It's fun! ^__^
This's also probably THE most successfully I've ever drawn a male character. Please pardon any lackings this picture has that previous pictures I've made had, but I'm trying to improve on them ^^;
Bios and Backstory
Nagala's mother, named "Yiradae", was a half-Naga, half Storm Demon woman, daughter to a wealthy politician and shrewd trader. Her and her husband's clothing and various other affects are all the results of political gifts and barterings brought home by her father due to his dealings abroad.
Yiradae's personality is surprisingly similar to that of Misara's, implying that since Misara and Nagala are spiritually linked where Misara is the "true" personality of Nagala, Nagala likely would herself take after her mother a *LOT* if she weren't so bound by her overzealous sense of conscience and duty.
Yiradae is VERY free-spirited, and follows her muse like a guide. This very scene was likely the product of Yiradae spontaneously declaring the caption above.
Nagala's father, presently unnamed, is full-blooded Clagaean, a race of people exclusive to my story. Dunno what to say of him. He's a pretty normal guy. Loves his wife, helps out his father-in-law whenever he needs it. (in fact, Nagala's father could well have been her grandfather's aide at one point.) He had a very good relationship with Yiradae's tribe, and likely first met them as a visiting merchant tradesman but decided to stay when he met Yiradae.
As for the reason they died? It all dates back to Nagala's grandfather, Yiradae's father. As diplomatic representative of his Naga tribe, he made a peace treaty with a neighboring nation of demons called Storm Demons. There he came in good favor with the Storm Demons by proving himself to them in various ways, and sealed an alliance with them by taking a Storm Demon woman for a wife, the High Warlord's sister. (Yiradae's mother)
Years pass. The two settle down and have a daughter named Yiradae. Further years pass, and Yiradae grows up, falls in love, weds in the Storm Demon fashion of conceiving a child (or in her case children), and is expecting to give birth to her children at any day when the unfortunate occurs.
An imperial demon collective has set its sights on the Storm Demons, intending to conquer and enslave them, integrating the abilities possessed by the Storm Demons into their collective through slavery and breeding programs.
As the Naga are allies of the Storm Demons, Yiradae's people come to the aid of the Storm Demons, repelling the invading imperial demon soldiers.
The leader of the imperial demons does not take kindly to this act, and while they had dismissed the Naga as not worthy of their time beforehand, the imperial demons now deemed the Naga expendable, and sent in a raiding party to eradicate the Naga so that they could not stand in the way of the imperial march against the Storm Demons.
The next morning, Yiradae's water breaks and she is going into labor. She just finishes giving birth to the new-born who would later be named "Nagala" when the imperial demons arrive and begin to raid their village.
Many are killed. The entire population of the Naga tribe is assumed killed, Nagala's parents included.
Amidst the chaos, Nagala's grandfather grabs Nagala after incurring a grievous wound, and despite the pain and continuing blood loss, he manages to carry Nagala to a neighboring demon village associated with the imperial demon collective where he leaves the newborn Nagala in the care of a family of demons he had been monitoring should the case arise that he needed to use this back-up plan.
He manages to leave her on the doorstep with a note and retreat back into the forest before his wounds overcome him and he succumbs to mortality.
The people living in the house see Nagala and see a brief glimpse of the backside of the giant Naga that was her grandfather, assume Nagala is somehow of Naga descent, and after some skepticism, adopt Nagala as their own and name her "Nagala", meaning "Naga Child" in Old Demonic.

Heh, sorry to whoever managed to read this far. I hope you don't mind my backstory writings ^^; I absolutely do *not* vouch for my literary abilities >_>;;
