You really need to be careful with what you say and who's around. One sentence can change someone's life.
I was pissed to say the least. So I came up with a plan, that Summer I was going to do exactly what I envisioned since Freshman year, I was going to learn EVERYTHING. Senior year would be my year.
So I hunkered down every single day after work and studied, I learned the Adobe Creative Suite, I learned the Microsoft Office Suite, I learned Web Development, I learned how to work Manga Studio 5 (Now Clip Studio)
Cause if I couldn't outdo everyone, I was going to out WORK them. My dream of being a mainstream comic artist was dead, and in it's place was the desire to become a webcomic artist who could program his own sites and effects for storytelling.
That Fall I created an animation that's since garnered 1.5M views on Youtube, I learned color theory and began doing digital paintings and, thanks to my studies of digital coloring and anatomy, my work was actually turning out pretty good.
That Winter I did a whole 24 page full color comic in the span of 1 month (Of which I'll eventually post), before falling chronically ill (Guillian-Barre' Syndrome) and having to take a leave of abscence from school for 3 months.
It was in this illness, however, that Zach Cooner was first conceptualized and the rest is history.
I'm thankful for my time at MCAD- it wasn't ALL bad and I still associate with a few of my friends from there, but nowadays I've moved on to pursue the same dream I had since before attending the college (though it's simplified and I'm much more mature about it), I want to make good stuff for people who will enjoy it. I may not be the best at any one skill, but I am a Jack-of-all-trades and I want to use my knowledge to make product unique to the people of our time- things my peers simply can't.
If it wasn't for the Junior Review, I'm not sure where I'd be today to be perfectly honest. I've kept it through the years because it's given me motivation to keep improving and excel from where I was, to reach new heights and not stagnate. It allowed me to realize there's more ways to be creative than just with one skill, and that skill level doesn't matter if you're the one who's actually willing to put in the work to create and improve.
So going back to the first paragraph http://www.furaffinity.net/view/34729465/
Comments like this don't phase me at all, cause I know where I've been and how far I've come as a creator. So to all the creatives out there, know that, even if something isn't the most quality, it's still one more product created than your would-be critic ever did. Keep on creating, and make great things ;)

Only posted it twice, one as an introduction, the other as a closing callback to the introduction to reiterate the point I was making.
Cute passive aggressive image (classy) but you missed the point of this if you think that's what this is whole 3 part post is about. I encourage you to read again.
Chill comes in many forms, learning from the past for the present and future to achieve success is mine.
