My Kobold Bard for a game a friend runs.
She's the new girl on the team, but does her best to help out.... when she's not accidentally stealing important magic artifacts <_<
Eoldrolth is the name of her patron, muse, and dragon.

That’s pretty much a perk as an artist, isn’t it? To be able to conjure up such an amazing picture that finely show exactly what you envisioned, while the rest of us stumble our words to try to explain details and origin of the PC’s eye scar and so it doesn’t sound like I ripped it off of Scar from The Lion King! Which it isn’t. It’s totally different people, I swear!
I mean, I've played several games with characters without art to accompany them. And I've read and heard some descriptions that feel more vivid than a drawing.
Honestly I don't think any of Dahab's physical characteristics being being kobold of a white dragon have really mattered in the game so far? I dunno. I guess I don't have the experience of not having an artist's mind's eye to really comment on?

I wouldn’t expect anyone to continually make art for every game just for themselves, but it is really cool when someone does go that extra mile just for the sake of immersion or otherwise.
As I see do it though, a lot of characteristics from characters either great or small do seem to be glossed over, branded as nothing but cosmetics. And that is okay, as it could only serve to make the owner of said character happy. So I doubt an Artist’s mind’s eye makes you blind to such things. It happens to us.
