Another spontaneous inspiration, this time for a nerdy monkey pred character. And also for "accidental" digestion, I guess. As a warning, involves permavore!
A pred prowls the university library in search of a snack, and sets his sights on a nerdy monkey...
Library Snack
By: Indi
In the three years he’d been attending Columbia State University, Ryan had never entered the main library to actually check out a book, or to study, or even merely hang out. Whenever the chubby hyena had visited, it was to grab a snack—a lively snack. There were always plenty of tasty nerds to snatch there. Often they were either distracted by studies or earphones, or just plain easy to overpower.
As long as he avoided the attention of the voracious head librarian he was nearly guaranteed to leave with a bouncing belly.
Fortunately he’d already spotted the lion librarian lugging around a gut that must’ve held an entire study group, so Ryan was in no danger of ending up on his menu. And though the library was oddly empty that afternoon, the hungry hyena had found the perfect, isolated snack with relative ease.
Alone at a desk was a monkey. He was lean, but Ryan preferred meals he could waddle away from so he considered that a positive. He wore a vest and glasses, and was obsessively pouring over a few books while taking frequent notes. The only way he’d have been a more perfect meal was if he’d been listening to music. Oh well, overpowering the smaller student wouldn’t be hard.
Suddenly the monkey stood up and headed towards the rows of shelves nearby with a book in hand. Ryan quickly followed, keeping just enough distance to not be noticed. But the monkey was hurrying as well, and their destination involved numerous turns amongst the maze of shelves. Before long, Ryan had lost him.
“What the...where’d that snack sneak off to?” Ryan mumbled under his breath.
Before he could take another step forward something struck the back of his head, hard. Ryan’s vision blurred, and he stumbled against the nearest shelf, falling to one knee. His head throbbed, the pain so bad he couldn’t say a word.
“Hmm, may have used a bit too much force. If I’d damaged this book I’d have ended up as cat chow. Though that’d probably be better than being hyena food.”
The monkey finished examining the book he’d used to bash his stalker and turned towards the dazed hyena. Niles was used to other students assuming he’d be easy pickings, but wished they’d have the decency to harass him when he wasn’t researching for a paper.
“I’m not that hungry right now, but someone’s gotta teach you a lesson so you don’t treat the library like a buffet anymore. I’m sure a quick stew in a stomach will help.” Niles grinned and grabbed the hyena by the arms.
Ryan hadn’t completely recovered, and was only able to wiggle a little in response. He fought harder when his head was shoved into his intended-meal’s maw, but even then the splitting headache slowed him down considerably.
The first few gulps were speedy and efficient, Niles uneager to waste too much time eating the hyena when he had work to do. Despite his slim frame, the monkey was an experienced pred. Staying active kept the pounds from piling on, and he didn’t glut like some of his classmates did. He also tended to let certain meals go free once he felt they were sufficiently humiliated. Admittedly his motives were less noble, and more because he didn’t want his weight to balloon like it had his freshman year.
By the time Ryan had begun to regain his bearings, he was already chest deep in the monkey. One-by-one the buttons of Niles’ vest snapped off as first his neck, and then his middle bulged outward. His shirt rode up, revealing a beige and sienna belly that swelled with every swallow.
Niles kept his prey pinned against the bookcase so he couldn’t struggle properly. He blushed as he felt his stomach start to fill and push against the half of the hyena still outside it. Once he’d lifted Ryan off the ground his meal was as good as done. With haste he crammed the rest of Ryan into his mouth, letting gravity help towards the end. When his jaws finally shut he let out a mixed sigh of relief and pleasure.
His belly was huge for how thin he usually was, a huge, unwieldy ball that swayed from side-to-side and bulged in odd ways from the furious hyena held captive inside. He held it in both hands just to keep it from bumping the bookcase. For a second Niles contemplated not letting the hyena out after all. He hadn’t looked too fattening, and Niles hadn’t indulged in quite a while.
But no, a gut would only interfere in his research.
“Oh don’t throw a fit in there,” Niles said, playfully pressing down on what was probably a paw bulge. “I’ll cough you up in an hour, so you’re not doomed to be monkey pudge. Honestly you’re pretty damn lucky. Alright, meal break over!”
Still pleasantly rubbing his full belly, Niles waddled down the aisle, which now felt so much more cramped than before. With some effort he avoided knocking over any bookcases with his rowdy middle, and returned the book that’d aided him against Ryan. Two more on the same shelf were grabbed, and the monkey went back to his desk.
Fortunately for Niles, the desks and chairs at least were built with the university’s gluttonous student body in mind. His wide chair only creaked faintly when he settled into it, and—after a bit of pushing and squeezing—he was able to slide up to the desk, his gut mostly under it.
Niles set a timer on his phone with one hand while the other kneaded and poked his belly. He wished he had the time to waddle around more, maybe even rest atop his gut and really feel the weight and size. Research came first, though. He shifted his complete attention to the books he’d gathered, and started reading again.
When the monkey put his mind to working, he really put his mind to it. The outside world was mostly ignored, his eyes locked onto the pages of his books and notebooks. So when an hour passed and his alarm didn’t go off, Niles didn’t notice. Occasionally a hand would sneak down to idly squeeze his gut, but his thoughts never drifted to why it was so big to begin with. He was too in the zone.
The struggles in Niles’ stomach steadily slowed as Ryan was first exhausted, then knocked out, and finally churned. The muffled gurgles weren’t enough to pull Niles away from the passages he was pouring over. As the hours passed, Nile’s belly gradually smoothed out and then shrunk.
“Hmm, got most of this done, but I might need to check for one more source just to be safe.” Niles shut the last couple books and stretched, twitching as he felt his belly push against the desk. He looked down, and his eyes immediately shot open in realization. “Oh! Uh, oops.” He poked his middle, which had gone from being massive to merely being a sloshy ball belly. When he looked at his phone, he realized he’d entered the time, but never actually turned on the alarm. “Guess my evening jogs are gonna be longer for a bit.”
Niles stood up, his gut wobbling a bit. He tried to pull his shirt over it, but it was still too round to be contained. Buttoning his vest back up was simply out of the question as well. Luckily for the monkey, he enjoyed showing off a temporary belly.
“I should probably call it a day before I have to eat another hungry interloper.” Niles chuckled, tapping his middle with his fingers. He gathered his belongings into his bag, then picked up the small pile of books he’d accumulated. Each one was returned to its rightful place on the shelves. The monkey smiled as he waddled around, listening to the gentle sloshes and feeling the extra weight.
Part of him wanted to feel that sensation all the time. But the rest of him wasn’t eager to end up getting stuck in the occasional doorway again. Or flatten another couch. Well maybe that’d be fun to do once more.
“Maybe I’ll go back to being a chunky monkey after I graduate,” Niles mused with a grin as he left the library. He gave his belly a teasing prod. “Or before, if my peers keep insisting on adding to my waistline~”
