This week's External Influence is the Reversed Spirit Guide Anteater. When this Spirit Guide normally appears, it indicates a need to look at what you know or what may be currently being kept from you. It indicates a time to push your activities and refresh your interests academically or in hobbies you may have let fall to the side. However, when we see this guide as a Reversed symbol, it can come as a sign that you may be willingly letting yourself ignore important information. Don't become a brick wall. Don't let yourself think that you already know everything. Prideful ignorance can be the downfall for any of us. It is in our power this week to assess our information and allow ourselves to take in knowledge that we may be refusing to accept whether we realize it or not. Allow yourself to be a conduit for this knowledge. Aid others in increasing their own personal knowledge, but remain humble. The Anteater Guide often comes as a sign for cautious, steady steps to navigate a situation, but now, with a Reversed card, this week comes to us as a time when quick action is required. Move now and move fast. Stop dragging your feet and make the move to complete your goals! Get into a positive, productive flow and allow yourself to enjoy it.
Today's Rune is Eihwaz. This rune represents the vertical axis of the world represents through the massive trunk of the World Tree, Yggdrasil. It is a rune of communication, knowledge, regeneration, and magic.Yggdrasil is a yew tree which are known to be an evergreen symbolizing longevity, however, also contains a toxin known to affect the central nervous system. Early rune users would create staves from yew trees to symbolize the polarities of death and regeneration by combining the yew tree's longevity with toxicity. Thus, Eihwaz represents the powerful properties of protection and banishing. However, it places an emphasis on communication and connections between the realms. It may represent removing a person or thing from your life, protecting yourself, increasing communication, or listening deeper to your dreams. Eihwaz shows us that we must travel through many experiences and realms in our lives but not to fear. Magic is within and around us waiting to be tapped into as we uncover the new stages in our lives. Work on communication with those around you as well as ancestors. Consider practicing lucid dreaming.
This week's Internal Influence is Badger. Be strong! This week may leave you feeling disconnected and alone or curious and wishing to explore relationships, but know that you have a strong core within to get you through anything! Defend your morals with determination and ferociousness, but remember not to let your aggression get out of hand. Use this surge of energy in a productive manner rather than tearing into others around you. Do not let yourself get sucked into avoidance techniques or distractions, but work hard to finish the goals you have placed before yourself. This may be hard if it requires learning not to rely on others, but to become more self-reliant when you realize others have not been pulling their own weight. Even so, do not let the downfalls of others drag you down. Step up as a healer and bring aid to others around you. Keep strong, defend your morals, and dig deep for knowledge that you can share to others all around you. Consider researching herb lore and healing techniques that may interest you this week. Allow yourself to feel both your productive aggression as well as your tender, healing side. Do not be afraid to stand up for yourself this week. Remember your morals and beliefs and allow yourself to explore your role as a teacher, healer, or storyteller. In these leadership roles, you may learn how to balance sharing your morals, aiding others, and engaging in your intellectual side.
