Today's Rune is Eihwaz. This rune represents the vertical axis of the world represents through the massive trunk of the World Tree, Yggdrasil. It is a rune of communication, knowledge, regeneration, and magic.Yggdrasil is a yew tree which are known to be an evergreen symbolizing longevity, however, also contains a toxin known to affect the central nervous system. Early rune users would create staves from yew trees to symbolize the polarities of death and regeneration by combining the yew tree's longevity with toxicity. Thus, Eihwaz represents the powerful properties of protection and banishing. However, it places an emphasis on communication and connections between the realms. It may represent removing a person or thing from your life, protecting yourself, increasing communication, or listening deeper to your dreams. Eihwaz shows us that we must travel through many experiences and realms in our lives but not to fear.
