I've always thought it interesting that when I see characters being portrayed together as a couple, be it gay or straight, it's like a scene out of a romance movie. Not saying that I don't like seeing that artwork about stuff like that, I generally do. But what about the the other "real-world" aspects of a relationship that you really don't see conveyed very often, that make your relationship with each other unique and special?
So in this scene I have just that. The infamous use of "natures credit card" to get out of doing something. Or, the attempt that is~
The Text-Message on the Raccoon's phone is as follows:
Raccoon: I'll go clean the bedroom and then help you when I'm done.
Raccoon: I think I found a bedbug
RedPanda: WHAT!?
(Yes, the phone actually has the text message on it and you can see if for yourself if you zoom in. You might not be able to see it here on FA since it's horrifically watered down. But, you WILL be able to see it on my DeviantArt upload. There I have the full resolution of 5400x3600 viewable for everyone.)
The Raccoon found no such bedbug(s), it was merely a ploy to get his husband - the Red Panda - to come into the room and maybe save having to help clean the house another day~
As I've said previous in this description, I've been working on this drawing for several months, about 6 to be exact. Furthermore, as you look around within the drawing you will see pictures of the two as their younger selfs.
Yep, that's right! Those independent drawings of them two have been part of this drawing the whole time! Now how's that for some detail!? Haha
You know.. It's interesting to me that even though I'm glad to have finished this drawing and upload it, it saddens me a little to actually be done with this drawing. I can honestly say that I've never felt such a way for any of my other drawings like this. Usually I'm excited and have a sense of accomplishment (which I do for this one, too) but never a level of sadness to actually be done drawing it.
Maybe I've simply just grown attached to the this scene and the buildup of the characters' lives, past, relationship etc? Sadly, I do not know the answer to my own question about this. All I know is that I'll miss working on this drawing... Perhaps just like all good stories and thing of the like, they must eventually come to a close - until the next story is born.
I hope you guys like this one. It's become one of my personal favorites and hopefully for some of you it will too. If nothing else, perhaps you can relate to what is conveyed in the drawing with your significant other~
Last Thoughts:
I'm NEVER drawing stripes again! Haha ok well at least not for a while... My stripe-drawing obsession believe it or not was pointed out by one of the locals I know. At first I didn't "see it" but once he said it, I then realized it lmao. Furthermore, he was one of the few who actually helped shape the outcome of this drawing. From sketched ideas to the path I chose. Kinda cool, eh?
Other than that I have to thank my husband who is much more imaginative to give me ideas and thoughts about the creation/what to add in the drawing. Ironically enough, even though I draw the stuff I have a hard time coming up with a lot of ideas on what to add or poses for the characters. Crazy, I know~
Furthermore with the "bittersweet" feeling I have towards this drawing, I'm sad to say that this was and is my last drawing of this scale. I will no longer be doing drawings this big in resolution. My computer is getting taxed and the software I'm using doesn't like working with Tiff files in the GB size; things just start to get glitchy and unstable. So, to fix this problem and to make things fluid once more, I must downscale the size of my drawings. Since I'm not wiling to sacrifice the level of details, the resolution is what needs to be changed.
For most of you your response is most likely a "who gives a s**t" but for me it's a disappointing decision.
Also, I've been experimenting with some different shading techniques, as well as highlighting and textures. You might have been able to notice these subtle differences in the previous drawings that I did for this particular scene, but maybe not. Regardless, they're there.
Lastly, and speaking of changes, I've messed with some new fur textures as well and I think they came out great on this!
At the time of writing this, I will work on making a time-lapse video of the progress of this drawing and upload it to YouTube. I'll share the link once I've got it uploaded for those who want to see it!

I just came back to look at this again remembering that I liked it when I first saw it... correct me if I'm wrong but if I've got it right...
his text was a ploy to get his husband to come into the room and find him undressed...to which he did. And in the picture we see him saying the title at walking into the room and finding his boyfriend naked. I suppose "nature's credit card" implies messing around in various ways, presumably in various forms of oral and possibly anal sex especially given the raccoon's suggestive look over at is his partner, and that would make sense given sex is a form of nature...
again forgive me if I'm spelling out the obvious. Total virgin here speaking, also I have yet to be in a relationship. But it'll happen eventually.

Haha yeah you didn’t really leave anything left up to the imagination, more or less, did yuh? But yes, for some this is merely an aspect of what their relationship consists of.
And to that last part you said, my greatest advise to you is to never give up, never force anything that doesn’t feel right - everything should come naturally and you’ll know when the “situation” is right.
Other than that, thanks for the comment! Glad you like the garbage I draw~

Thank you for what you said here ( and on the other drawing of mine, too ) - it's all very greatly appreciated!! Now, speaking of what you commented here, lol, yeah I tend to spend WAY too much time working on all these drawings but, I never regret it~
I remember it being said to me when I was a kid that "it's always the small details that make the big picture" (or something like that anyway lol). So, that's what I try to do with my artwork more or less~
Anyway, thanks for the comment, the faves (and the watch, btw)! More garbage to come so keep an eye out!!
