Alright the fourth installment of Decisions. this time we get to see how Donnies past was. read the first three or this won't make sense. this contains a major plot twist. read and enjoy. Please tell me if there are any spelling errors that I need to address.
Donnie was in shock but not more so then I. he was totally freaked when he saw me on the floor in front of him. I seen the confusion and the fear in his eyes, but why fear? I didn’t know all he said was “Did Donny bring you here?” I was bewildered at what he just said. I had to ask “what the hell are you talking about? You’re Donnie” he just put his hand between his hands and just sputtered bad words. I finally asked him “what is going on Donnie” he didn’t answer my question; he just said “Oh fuck this is bad. This is really bad. I thought this stopped. Oh god no” what the hell was he talking about? I asked again “Donnie, what the hell is going on” he stopped moving, he just looked up into my eyes and said out of nowhere “we need to go” “Go? Go wh…” “we need to go. It doesn’t matter where. We just need to go.” I said “why?” “Kilo this is bad and this is bigger then the both of us.” He walked over to the shaded window and peered out. “They’ll be here any second now.” “Donnie you’re freaking me out. Who is coming” he replied with an annoyed tone “No time to explain. Get into the car” I didn’t want to upset him any further then he already was. So I did what he said and went outside to get in the car.
Two minutes pasted before Donnie came out with a bag and a nylon carrying case which was slung over his shoulder. When Donnie got in he put the Nylon case onto the seat, which I identified as a gun case, and began to riffle through the bag. I was about to ask Donnie what he was doing with a gun but was shocked to find that he had yet another gun in the bag, this time it was a pistol. I knew we were in some sort of trouble, but I didn’t know what kind. “Donnie what are you doing?” he said “these people don’t fuck around Kilo they will KILL you and take me if they find us.” “WHO THE HELL ARE THEY?” I said as I seen two people get out of a, clearly visible, military HMMVEE. Donnie jumped in and pulled out faster then the people on the far side of the lawn could start running. And in a second we were on the road and headed to nowhere.
. . .
“Jake did you get a plate number?” Jake paused and said “No. it was too dark. Couldn’t even see the others face.” The man on the other end slammed a fist on the table and said “God damn it we need a fucking lead.” “We’ll wait for the Kids’ parents to arrive” “you sure the hell are” and the big grey wolf slammed the phone on the receiver with such a force that the plastic cracked. The grey wolf looked at the wall plastered with pictures and newspaper clippings and as he looked a particular picture of a grey husky he rubbed a five inch scare on the side of his face. “We’ll get you. You Russian son of a bitch.”
. . .
The car was dark and so was my mind. I felt like asking what just happened but I didn’t. Donnie Kept his eyes fixed on the road and didn’t flinch for a second. I just stared out side into the white and black abyss. I was totally lost but was brought out of my trance by Donnie’s voice “when I was only four years old, a doctor diagnosed me with a split personality. There is only a slight difference in our names. I spell my name D-O-N-N-I-E. However, this ‘Other’ me spells his name D-O-N-N-Y. It’s a very small difference indeed but the personalities are totally different. I’m straight and was born in Alaska. But The other ‘Me’, on the other hand, is.. well he’s… he’s like you.” The last sentence hurt me a little. But I didn’t let it show. He continued “Nobody knows where he was born. He never told… Er I never told” this all seemed to farfetched to believe but I had to. We were running from mysterious people and it’s serious enough to the point where Donnie actually has not one but TWO weapons on him… er us. “well how do you know that these people are after you?” he sighed and said “Well this Grey wolf walked past me and went into the room that my parents were called into. I over heard this wolf say ‘This is a very serious security crisis. We need this child under military protection’ I heard a crash and then a loud BANG. After about twenty seconds my mom came out and told me to get in the car. I did as she told me to do and we went home.” This was a lot to take in. I had to stop and think for a second but then he continued with a sigh. “once we got home my mom told me to pack what I can and get back in the car. She didn’t tell me where we were going I just did what she asked. That day we boarded a plane and we flew somewhere. That ‘somewhere’ I later found out was Wyoming.” I seen a tear roll down Donnie’s cheek but he didn’t stop there. “I was so used to Alaska and had so many friends there I could… I just couldn’t bear the fact that I had to leave all that behind.” By now Donnie’s voices was shaky and tears were streaming from his eyes. I wanted to hold him, try to consul him but I didn’t he just sniffled and looked at me. “That’s when I met you.” I’ve known Donnie since third grade and we were always good friends, given the fact that I was the only one who actually offered him my friendship, but I never knew this happened to him. I never knew him to have a split personality. I never even caught this ‘Other’ Donny. “A Psychiatrist said that Donny stopped coming around. That he finally ‘disappeared’ I started to believe that until today. That has never happened since I was eight years old. Something must’ve triggered it again.” He looked at me with a disappointed look and said. “That ‘something’ being YOU”
I didn’t know where we were headed; I just know that some people were after me and Donnie and that we cannot get caught by them.
We were driving for some time before we finally stopped. Donnie pulled into a dirt road that was now capped with snow and drove for a good thirty minutes. He stopped and said. “We have to sleep in the car. We can’t rent a hotel because I don’t trust credit cards at the moment. We both can’t trust credit cards.” He turned off the engine and laid the seat back. I did the same and soon I was asleep.
“Get out of the car NOW!” I jumped up and looked around. Red and blue lights everywhere I panicked and did what the Man on the Overcom said and got out. But as soon as I did I felt nothing but Pain and then White.
