Found in the woods by a pious and compassionate monk, she was taken away from her dead mother's breast and into the caring yet cautious arms of the monks of the monastery. Sebastian Faedori introduced a monster into the workings of the Faith amongst the humans, raised her to learn how to read and the histories of humans and monsters. And all while she is a welcome addition to the monastery by the majority. The fundamentalists and the devout scorn her existence openly, enforcing she live outside of the walls of their hallowed grounds.
Instead of running off on her own -- as she has no idea what awaits her amongst the human realms, she decided to stay and work as a sheepherder for the monastery. Sebastian finding all manner of ironies of a Werewolf herding the Sheep promised to the Faith agreed to it, on the condition she learns to defend herself as a human. Being a Werewolf is abounding with strength, but one should use their strengths when it is truly needed, not when it is called upon. Willow knew this better than anyone as many would persecute and kill Willow if they knew she was a Werewolf -- but many in the Monks would have to keep her existence a secret for fear of being persecuted as well.
Willow suffers all of this and holds back so much because she considers Sebastian her "Alpha" as well as her father figure (despite being only years older than her), but there are times when the two show something a bit more, even though his vows of chasitity forbid it, much to her irritation and sadness.
