Model designed by Donny_Origami on Instagram and folded by me.
Is is hard to express how excited I am for this one !! For all the previous models I've posted here, I followed diagrams which are basically step by step instructions on how to fold a model. However, making diagrams is hard and takes time and not all designers can make them so they came out with a solution : crease patterns. They are essentially the principal creases of the model and once you've folded all of them, you can shape the collapsed model into your final model but it is very hard and intimidating if you don't have the right technique. This is what the crease pattern looks like for this model, you can see that it's very easy to be overwhelmed, but with the right techniques it is doable, so doable that I was able to make it !
The facehugger is the first one I've ever made from a crease pattern and if I keep getting better, I'll be able to fold way more complex models and way more than models with diagrams !
