Wow, that's really well done! I Love the warm colours, it makes him appear as a friendly welcoming old man :D If I squint and blur the colours, it reminds of how they used to do panitings with all those reds and browns, and make the face shiny. I really like the hair too, but it the way you did it makes it look out of focus, compared to the rest of him x)

Wow, this is certainly a huge departure from what you normally post! I had to make sure I wasn't confusing you with somebody else for a second there.

Yeah, there's usually a pretty damn big gap of what I CAN do and what I choose to do.

And then there's what I DO do everyday at work, which is usually not rewarding.

The colors and the texture remind me of 1960s illustration. Specifically, the Milton Bradley "Map of the United States" jigsaw puzzle, which had each state's major industry illustrated with small paintings (not lifeless graphic icons like the new ones have.) That map makes the US seem like a warm, inviting place where things are real and alive, and not just statistical data ... seeing it, and images which evoke that style, always gives me a nice nostalgic feeling.

You don't happen to have a photo of that on hand, do you?

I don't have the puzzle anymore but I do have the box it came in.
