12-18-19 [My Frand Spooky Girl!]
Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well I woke up in the middle of the night and goobed off online for a couple hours, then I managed to get back to bed. I woke up again a little past 11, then got some warm clothes on and headed out and about for the day.
My first stop was Pizza Hut in Benton, 'cause I was hungry and felt like getting a pizza since I heard NL talk a lot about it the night before. I went in the dine-in door, then the helpful staff pointed me to the to-go counter! I ordered a lorge mushroom pan pizza and a 2 liter of Pebis, then waited and browsed my phone for 15 minutes as it cooked. A couple policemans arrived as I was leaving with my food, and I sat in my car and ate 5 of the slices.
After I was full, I headed to the gas station for more fuel, then Walmart where I got some gloves and some socks. I paid and then headed toward the North end of LBL. It was pretty cold, and the water spilling out of the dam's locks looked absolutely frigid!
When I got to the North end of LBL I parked on a side-road and headed down this ill-kept paved road that lead toward the base of the bridge connecting LBL to the mainland. The path was covered in graffiti, as was the bottom of the bridge, but I didn't hafta go below it in order to get the cache. Instead I headed up the hill toward the road, and the hint (cedar) really helped. The cedar was no longer there, having been cut down by road crews, but the base of it was and the stones piled beside the remaining trunk was a dead give away as to where the cache was.
After that I drove further up the road, parked, and walked back from where I'd come from. There was a cache on a trail that seemed like I could easily access it by walking across a field. I started across it and saw what I thought was a deer sticking up from the middle of it in the distance, but as I got closer I saw that it was just some leaves on this plant...But seriously, the grass in that field was at least 4 feet high and super rough and tangled around my feet as I walked. It was quite the workout making my way to the woods to find the cache (which was hanging from a tree)...And on the way back, I decided to head through the woods rather than facing my way back through that field.
I had to go poob during these excursions, but the whole time I was looking for a bathroom of some sort. I couldn't find one, so I headed up to get the next cache, which was a multi that took me past an old cemetery. The first part was at the base of the cemetery's sign (The grave markers were old stones, with newer PVC pipe crosses erected beside each one), and the second part was at an overlook above the lake. The cache was hanging from a tree, and it didn't have a log...But it was clear what it was! I couldn't sign it, but on the way back I tucked into the woods and sat upon a fallen tree and used the bathroom...Dun worry, I had a bunch of napkins in my pocket! :b
The next two caches were kinda a two-fer. I drove a bit further down the road, parked, then headed Southeast a few hundred feet and made the find at the top of the hill. I returned to my car, past it, headed Northwest, and made another find a few hundred feet in. While grabbing the second one, just as I made the find, my frand Ian called!
I signed the log and chatted with him as I drove to the next cache. We talked of skiing in the snow and my recent LSD experiences while I walked the .4 miles to the next cache, which was located near the base of a cell tower inna woods. I made the find, signed, and headed back to my car. The conversation ended and before driving off I crossed the street and grabbed yet another. The day was getting dark, but I had one more I needed to grab. It was pretty easy, and after making the find I headed home...
...But the area near the dam has always confused me, and I took a wrong turn and headed toward Gilbertsville...Then when I turned around I made a wrong turn an headed through Calvert...Oh well, at least I knew where I was! While driving home mum called, which reminded me I had promised to pick up milk. She further added that I should grab 4 bags of ice.
I drove to the Dollar Genital and bought some, and while there I saw one of the workers at Jonathan...I think she was an aid or something, but I can't remember, exactly. I paid for the stuff then once the ice container was unlocked I put the bags in my car and headed home. When I got there I unloaded the goods and made myself some pizzas and headed downstairs. I spent some time goobing off online. Eventually I headed upstairs and made some leftover porkchops and made two sandwiches from them both.
After that I spent most of the night cleaning a bit, goobing off online, writing some, playing KoL...And just being a lazy noodle! I wound up staying up until about 4:30 'cause I was watching Joker!
I hope everyone has a Northern LBL geocaching day! <333
It Spi! :D
