Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well I woke up around noon when dad was restocking the fire, and after rousing myself awake, I grabbed some Cinnamon Toast Cronch and got ready to help with firewood. Cold and wet weather was predicted to head our way, so we wanted to get that out of the way post-haste! We took down the old metal crates (Empty, so light enough for two of us to move by hand), then mum and I used the electric wheelbarrow and refilled the basement's stuff. By this time dad had gone up the road with his tractor and returned with another metal crate of wood, and mum and I moved it to the appropriate spot with the pallet jack. After moving it, dad showed us a couple pieces of ornate metal, and it turns out they come from the Southern Komfort Arch.
See, back in the 1950s when Southern Komfort was Will Vera Village, the original owners built a cast iron arch over the road's entrance. The arch has stood for over 60 years, but because someone complained, the owner had to take it down. Sad!
When we finished loading the wood I went downstairs and spent a little time goobing off, then I did a bit of editing, and eventually around 4:30ish I packed my stuff and headed out and about to Murray. It was a peaceful dark drive, and after leaving Hardin (where the last potential dead-spot for the cell phone is), I called grandma. She said the lenai is looking really nice, and that Kathy (David's wife) painted her a really pretty water color picture.
After our phone call I headed to Taco Bell, where I got a Baja Blast with a Burrito Supreme with a soft taco and a steak quesadilla and 4 extra soft tacos. When I got to Jesse's place I saw he and Alex outside smonking, but I had been listening to NPR and wanted to hear which of the 3 stories were real (Two twin women, one Jewish and one Christian, both trying to outdo one another with decorations. Two brothers trying to sabotage the other's deer stand with repellent. A guy teaching his brother's dog to poop/attack on command so he loses dog shows). After learning the deer stand story was the right one, I went inside and ate my burrito supreme and quesadilla, then saved the rest of the food for later. I drank a few screw drivers with my vodka, then shortly after Wes arrived and Jesse, Jim, Wes, Alex, and I all headed to the Apple Bar.
The Apple is Murray's most popular bar, and though I hate going to such busy places, this one had been closed to the general public so the party could be hosted there! I mingled with people (BFF's wife Kristen was there!), then I drank like 3 of these high-proof beers called Double Heart Ale (Had a feesh on the front, and were 7% alcohol). While meeting people, the boss of all the stores, Boone, came up and we started discussing shows and stuff, and it turns out he and I disagree on what's entertaining (I watch LPs, yo!), and when he said I lack imagination, I told him that I've published 7 novels thus far. :B
We left after a few prize drawings (Mostly google assistants and clocks and gift cards, but two TVs as well!), then headed back to the house. We watched the final episode if Watchmen (Really good, silly cliff hanger tho), and Ryan G (Taco) left. While chatting with Wes at some point in the night, he mentioned that he had some hits of LSD, and so later in the night I helped him cut the tiny packets and put one under my tongue. He did the same, and so did Jesse...
...And then we waited. I didn't think it was working for a bit, but then we all got very giggly...Like, beyond reasonability and I got reallllly thirsty, then at some point when I went outside I noticed that the tree in his yard looked very...fractal...Like all the tiny twigs made the thing look like a dark crack against reality, and I thought it looked so cool. Then I saw a smol collection of leaves and they were wafting gently in the wind, but the way they moved reminded me of a round baby moving around.
Eventually after everyone else had gone to bed, Jesse and Wes and I decided to go on a night walk. We headed into the woods behind his house. We romped through there and I was just enjoying the night, even tho the other two had filled my water with vodka (I wasn't drinking it, lol), then on the other side of the woods we popped into the massive cemetery.
Now when you think “Hey I'm trippin' on acid!”, you probably don't think a cemetery is a good place to do it...But it was really cool, and there was so much going on! I saw the graves scurrying over one another, then I saw these large grave spires in the distance starting to disintegrate. The whole time this was happening I knew I was just seeing things due to the drug, so I wasn't worried...More intrigued and fascinated and there to enjoy the ride.
Wes and Jesse, however, seemed to be trying to tap into the drunk revelry of youth, 'cause they were just trying to go everywhere and kept trying to do everything and explore loads...And I was just happy to see things! Also Wes and I wanted to respecc the graves, but Jesse didn't care about that, and I think it's 'cause he wants to be edgy. :b
We walked to the center of the cemetery, where this massive flag is illuminated by floodlights. The shadow it was casting on the misty skies was really cool, and Wes moved the light a little. We headed back toward the house, but en route we saw an above-ground marble casket with no one in it yet. I said I didn't care, but Wes and Jesse just wanted to stand on top of it. By now it was past 5 AM, and I knew joggers often came through the cemetery in the early mornings, so I told them we should leave, but they were kinda drunk at that point. Regardless, I enjoyed seeing the way the night sky was split into two crazy colors (Orange on one side, blue on the other, and on the blue side the red light of a radio tower was illuminating a single point) while they stood atop the grave. I saw bushes in the distance starting to move also, and I heard things moving in the cemetery, but I still felt p good.
Actually, the only time I started not feeling good was after they convinced me to stand atop the grave. I did it easily enough, but it was smooth and wet and I already hate standing on stuff, so I had to hold onto them the whole time. I climbed back down and I think that my anxiety had caused me to clench my bum to the point where the muscle hurt a bit, and I actually just wanted to head home so I could lay down. I hobbled back with the others, and when we got there I covered up with a blanket and Wes and I closed our eyes on the couch and we watched the Mandalorian. The colors were so intense and we were getting into it, but the whole time Jesse would not stfu about having to work the next day, and it was really ruining the mood. Like every couple minutes he'd just remind us, and yeah, that sucks, but you're making it suck for us as well.
I was pretty chilled for some reason, so I took my blanket and relaxed on the floor, and when I closed my eyes I saw all sorts of crazy things. There were objects inside objects, and space folding inside itself, and negative space interacting with positive in ways I'd never before seen, and empires of different designs rising and falling. A Saturn-like planet of interlocking hands surrounded by teeth, some gray stone neurons connected in infinite space by rainbow tethers. A lot of hexagonal based patterns. My nose was stopped up, and when I wondered why this was so, I realized it was because my nose had become too arrogant. I then had to watch a process where the nose was destroyed and desecrated and passed on from empire to empire, until it had become humble enough to draw in air for my lungs.
At some point Jesse thankfully decided to stop complaining and I was able to pass out, though it was uncomfortable, and I woke up sometime in the morning to go to the large couch, where Jim had slept. Apparently Jesse convinced him he was mean to girls the night before, and in his guilt he left to make it right, which freed the couch up for me! :b
Crazy, crazy, CRAZY night!
I hope everyone has a trippin' day! <333
