Huh, Pitfall managed to survive being flattened by a multi-ton tank, I'm honestly impressed.
I quite like the Cougar's new look, the lithe build suits her well (I wonder if the photo you chose (AKA Femmepaws' avatar) was meant to foreshadow that.
Now, in regards to the last scene. I think it was a nice bit of subversion to have the god appear as a humble lumberjack. It probably could have been stronger if he was present during earlier parts of the story, but regardless it has the desired effect. I would certainly have questions if I were in Jim's shoes, to say the least.
I think some of the comparisons others are making to Hitchhiker's Guide is quite apt. It has a similar feel albeit with your particular sense of humour which lends it a charm all its own.
