-Robin Hood & Maid Marian AR -Epilogue 2/2
The gripping conclusion! *gasp* You didn't expect that did you?
Robin's talking in his cute kiddie impediment there, he's referencing "Oo-de-lally" which was phrase often repeated in the 1973 film. I tried to make it something of an exclamation here- An attempt to bring a hint of connection to the actual characters here... Marian looks terrible here, I can't get over it, and yet can't think of any way to make it work any better either...
Its a sort of alternate storyline I suppose, with Prince John getting a far more satisfying ending I think...
There is an ancient decree in this alternate kingdom of England, an edict that designates the age at which a prince heir may take the throne, (even a stand-in prince like John). I think our "Phoney King of England" has dropped below that requirement. Now that Johnny's a cub again, a regent must be appointed. A regent only too happy to take up the throne, and intent upon staying there. Thus enters an ambitious chamberlain fed up with the immature and childishly tyrannical ways of John. An official with his own ideas for England's prospects...
The first to recover after the shock of witnessing the regressive metamorphosis, our official takes advantage of his sovereign's panic and confusion. He roughly removed the crown from where it had settled, down over his ears, past his narrow shoulders, all the way down around Johnny's waist. The shrunken lion, in characteristic (and now physically appropriate) childish mannerism, grabbed at it. But his diminished strength was now effortlessly easy to defy, the sharp crown slipped painfully from his chubby paws.
'It hardly fit him in the first place,' the chamberlain thought with a smirk as he examined the rubies and amethysts bedecking the symbol of authority. Now it was his authority, he raised it to his head and swapped it for his normal plumed silk one. He then silently turned on his heel and beckoned the other officials and servants to follow him. They did so, only hesitating for a moment, glancing at the now howling infant, who was pounding his fists on the forest floor. They booked it out of the clearing, some looking nervous, some relieved. Last to leave was a small serpentine figure, slithering under the brush, a short cape his only garment, who looked back several times before grimacing with a sorrowful sibilance. And pushing ahead, eyes full of tears. The cub's cries were lost in the rustling of leaves as the royal party proceeded to take their places on the Royal Carriage.
Sir Hiss just managed to hoist his body onto the cab before it took off in a hurried trot that became an all-out gallop. A very portly figure in a tattered brown robe was forced off the path and into a sidelong ditch. The friar picked himself up and shook dust from his robe, far too used to that treatment to be much bothered. He was just about to hazard an attempt at climbing back to the road when a faint sound reached his ears. It was whimpering, whimpering and crying. Being a kind and benevolent fellow, Friar Tuck immediately altered course to investigate the anguished lament, just audible beneath the rustling brush.
Aw, crap- I got stuck in story mode again, well consider yourselves treated to even more backstory (oh noes conflict!) to work into your own imagined conclusions here.

Hehehe, nice little in joke there, I can just hear that in Robin's higher octave voice. Also *pats the koopa's shell* I think you did a fine job with Marian, and you did the best you can, that's what counts right? Practice is practice and...you probably want me to stop using so many cliche's before I sink the post. *blushes and closes the book of Ye Olde Cliches*
Now, looking to Lil John...*looks at the little bawling lion cub, eyes twitching and mouth pursed a bit, trying to reign it in...but can't hold it all back, going "Awwwww"* I can only just wonder how long he was holding that in. Terribly adorable, I definitely like the nods to his nervous ticks from the film, and the tear drop distilled on his cheek...just...the poor thing needs a hug, is all I must say, really.
As for the Three Mouseketeers (No? Okay I'll stop), I have to say you captured various states of surprise quite well, from Robin's wide-eyed,anime sweat-drop, leap off the ground "OMG", to Skippy's mouth hanging, stock still "No way", and finally to Marian's more restrained but still quite astonished look (Only proper from a little lady brought up in high society). All and all, this was a great way to end the little sequence series. I think you did an excellent job, and showed quite a bit of innovation in the techniques you used as well as the direction you took the overall narrative and story. Very good work =3
