The second biggest spider I saw on my trip to Australia (several years ago).
It had an orbital web spanning at least 10 feet, across a dry stream bed.
Never really got a solid ID on it, but my closest guess was, some kind of golden orb weaver or a relative.
fun fact it can catch and eat small birds.
p.s. the first largest I saw was an island living variety of huntsman spider.
Having a leg span far greater than a human face and baring quite a good resemblance to a face-hugger, I chose not to get close enough to that specimen for a good shot. ^.^
