First entry that is not from Down Under...
As much as I would like to keep the trend running (and I could definitely do it too!), I can't really cover some of my favorite albums from 2019 if I confine my design practices to only one country. With that, let's talk about Oh Sees' "Face Stabber," a solid example of their brand of psych rock they've been doing for awhile now. The band is known for the wide array of spellings of their name (and I totally labeled them with a "Thee" which is not what the album is actually listed under...) and their impressively tight live shows with lengthy jams. "The Daily Heavy" starts the album off strong with its ridiculous squeaker toy intro that the two drummers later join and mimic. Layer some cascading synths, a groovy bass, screeching guitar solos, and it's ready to clear the path for a long, stellar double-album.
