Of course they wouldn't be, but its about perception. You have to present yourself for the job you want, not the job you have. Know the company you are applying to. For example, my industry is airline. We aren't gonna hire someone who doesn't look like a 'business' professional to work our ticket counter or gates, because the flying public doesn't want to see someone with metal in their face checking them in for flights, or working as their pilots and flight attendants. Its just the way things are. Certain business you can get away with it, not all of them. That being said, i don't care if someone has a peircing personally. But at an interview, gotta put on your best impression.

Meh. Still total bullshit. Personally, people need to get over the fact that people like metal in their faces when others don't. Sure, some places don't look good pierced, while others do, but, seriously, it's just -a- piercing. Now, if it were a face full of them, like, 40 in the nose, 30 on the lips, 100 on each ear, that's a problem, but if it's -one-, let it go. It doesn't need to be the deciding factor in hiring someone, cause if it were, a lot of guys would not be hireable because they've got their Diddly Jr. wearing a crown, or their handbags accessorized with the latest and greatest metal.

Oh well, one less hard worker for them, one more for me.

Its just the way of the business world. I personally dont' care. but its about a business outlook.

Hence why every time I get the "I don't think you're suited for this company" vibe, I try and cut the interview short and end with "I believe I'm not suited for this company, thanks." and waltz out gracefully :D
