Race: Terrasect

Vallis, a very tropical planet that is home to the Terrasects, a race of intelligent insectoid creatures with a hive mentality that allows them to thrive in prosperity. Terrasects are an interesting species that tend to be an extremely peaceful race that prefers diplomatic solutions to conflict. However they are no strangers to war. While they may not appear to be a species prone to violence, they are deceptively efficient warriors that are far more attuned to the arcane arts than most others can be. Almost as proficient as even beings of the ethereal plane.

That being said, Subject 003 alias Katah, is a very skilled intellectual whose skills in the arcane arts rivals that of even my own. Perhaps possibly more proficient, a statement that I do not use very often. While the culture of his species is heavily influenced by metaphysics, they are also very much invested in mysticism; believing in a force known as 'The Weave.' In a sense they are not far off. Those of the Ethereal plane such as myself refer to this force as 'Mana.' Very few beings outside the plane are able to harness its power. At least not without mechanical and arcane assistance. The fact that Subject 003 is so well attuned to Mana is most intriguing.

Being insectoid in nature, Terrasects have a strong hive like social hierarchy with a Constitutional Monarchy with Matriarchal ideals and a strong sense of peaceful expansion to other planets. Using spores from a unique plant native to Vallis, they are able to terraform most environments to fit their needs. Unfortunately, most carbon based life forms have difficulty breathing the dense oxygen produced by these plants. The main reason as to how and why they have very rarely ever been targeted, and as to how they have never lost a war in their history. Future studies required…
