Centrifuge Beach Pinup
Hurray at actually having a full colour piece commissioned that I can post. :D
Commission for my friend, Centrifuge.
It took way too long for me to get this done, so many thanks to him for all his patience and understanding. Always nice to have a commissioner like that. :)
Just a pin up of his character, an amphibious dragon, laying on the beach soaking up the sun and being all shiny! :3

This...is...amazing. I'm almost hating myself for having nit-picks about this piece. If you'd like to hear them let me know but otherwise it would just detract from an amazing piece. The surf and the background look like they came from a photo, the sheen is gorgeous, and it seems every anatomical detail is present and accounted for, especially the webbing on the hands and the material of the frill. This is great, just great. I'm going to stop ranting now.
Well, assuming the sheen comes from being wet, and that the surf seems to be coming in and out, it caught my eye that none of the sand seems to have any moisture or dampness anywhere. That, and the feet are perfectly clean despite having just walked through the sand. Even dry feet would pick up some of it. And...that's pretty much it. Just a few things that caught my eye.
Heh, you know, I feel really silly now for that not crossing my mind (about sand being on his feet).
I actually put sand on places like hear his elbows, chest and the under-parts of his arms, but having resided it it kinda got lost. I'm taking a break on it for the moment, but I am gonna hit it up again tomorrow and fix that as intended along with the things you've mentioned :)

Water is an absolute pain for me XD It was originally going to have it coming up along the beach, around him and what not, but I couldnt get that to look right at all ^^;
After much digging over reference and various tutorials I found something that worked for getting a result close to what I wanted. :3
Literally, I spent probably 3-4 days on looking through them alone, never mind actual work on it. XD
