Time to take a little break from drawing MLP characters to draw other things. I want to say that now that I can test more with my drawing tablet, I'll be drawing different stuff. I'm wishing to draw some Pokemon characters for example. I don't want to stop drawing MLP just to find new horizons. Remember that...
This time we return with Backyardigans and my second favorite character from the show, Austin. An adorable but pretty shy kangaroo who has interesting and curious roles in the show (like the mystery lifeguard for example hehe). Please tell me that a purple kangaroo wearing a fluffy diaper isn't the cutest thing you've seen :P This drawing was really interesting since I had to apply different effects to add lights and shadows, something that didn't bring the best result, but anyway a pretty decent one that I certainly love. Hope you like it, this kind of content is pretty rare.

It is definitely rare. The closest you may ever find to this would be the works of Kelvin The Lion,
KelvinTheLion.
One of the last works I saw from Kelvin was his kangaroo character, in a thick diaper, allowing another character, also wearing a diaper, climb into the kangaroo pouch.

Austin sounds like a fun character, like Tyrone. Do you think you will do all The Backyardigans?
Something cute is how, for a kangaroo, they can stash away stuff in both their pouch and their diaper. Though storing stuff in the diaper should only be done after a fresh change. Austin should also want whatever he puts in his diaper to smell like lavender-scented baby powder.
This gives me an idea. Austin, when he feels unhappy, could have a plush toy in the front of his diaper. Then he can pull it out of his diaper, give it a big hug, and smell the scent of powder that reminds him of how caring his mommy and daddy are.
It is interesting how certain smells can give different feelings. For me, lavender baby powder really helps me feel less stress.
I have a plush Yoshi that I put newborn size diapers on. Sometimes I will add some powder in his diapers so that, when I snuggle him for comfort, I get a little extra comfort from both 'smell' and 'touch'.
Combine this with a comfy diaper for myself, which contains powder, and I can slip out of nearly any stress. Though the side effect is I am really sleepy.

What happy memories do you have of Austin? Can you think of what a padded Austin would do with a diapered Tyrone?

Yeah. I think I can find some drawings about kangaroos in that gallery. I have also seemed that Kurikia has some drawings about kangaroos. But believe me. Austin isn't even close to those designs, he is pretty different, even hard to notice that he is from that species.
I don't think I would draw all the Backyardigans because honestly, I don't find cute all the characters. Tyrone and Austin are the cutest ones for me and for the rest I don't think that this mood of diapers would fit so good... But who knows...
Now that you mention that about kangaroos and diapers which is pretty curious hehe... I have to say that I have no idea if Austin has a pouch. He never appears in the show (as far as I've seen already) naked in that part of the body, then that is not noticeable, and neither that part of his body is visibly thicker or something, but who knows? It could be possible. As a short anecdote let me tell you that there is an episode where they make a race around the world and Austin wins it because he is the only one prepared for all the situations thanks to the stuff that he carries on his bag in his waist... Hmmm, a kangaroo with an external bag, curious...
Honestly, I haven't noticed how cute was Austin till I watched again this last year several episodes and I put more attention on him. He is simply shy and adorable because of his submissive personality. Even when he has to play the role of a villain you can see that he can't do it perfectly because of how he is. When you put also more attention is his design, you find how cute he is in reality hehe.
What could he do with a padded Tyrone? It may be complicated. His relationship with Tyrone is one of the poorest in the show. But there is an episode where both are abominable brothers in the middle of the snow and they even play together, so I could imagine something like that.
Thanks a lot for your comments Yosh :)

Thank you for giving me a better look at how Austin appears compared to other kangaroos. I also thank you for sharing how his shy and submissive personality also impacts the adventures he and his friends get into. The idea of a bashful bad guy is cute!
For Austin in diapers, I bet the diaper could be his pouch.
Something interesting is how cartoon animals can exchange some of their real animal abilities and features to gain others. Austin would not need a pouch if he can use a backpack, or diaper, to carry things. He also may still be able to hop but hopping does not need to be the only way he walks.
This idea of a kind of evolution works very well with the characters in MLP. I have read enough to know horses and ponies are not able to control when they go potty. So, if MLP was true to nature, we would see every pony in diapers with diaper sales being very important. You would also have lots of businesses and places dedicated to getting changed and cleaned up.
We also cannot forget how the ponies can use a hoof to grab and hold things.
So, back to Austin, it makes sense he would be different from a kangaroo found in the wild. He, like his friends, come from an evolution above where some features remained while others were updated to what they do in their society. :)

Yeah. All that you mention is completely right and one of the things I've loved cartoons my entire life is that they can interpret the world in their own way and create a coherent context where everything works pretty good even if it is afar from our reality. Imagination allows you to create your own worlds with their own rules and cartoons can convert them into reality. If you think it carefully. Those days there is nothing that animation can't do, only what your imaginations limit yourself. Something that also shouldn't have to be impossible since the researches show that the universe is infinite which means that all the possibilities including the most useless could exist.
Something that I haven't probably explained yet about Backyardigans is that the animal species are usually irrelevant. The character are never limited because what they are and usually, the species of each main character is something completely ignore... That's probably why Austin's kangaroo features aren't important here and they are only used as a gimmick.
I don't know what I feel I'm writing horrible today... Anyway, hope you understand my message and once again thank you very much for all your support to my drawings.

You have written perfectly. You are doing even beyond perfect given how tricky American English is. I am always feeling a hint of guilt for not being able to show you the same courtesy. Please know that I very deeply appreciate you taking the time to write what you do to me in English. One day, I will get one of those applications and make a strong effort to learn other languages.

You make a good point about how the character species in backyardigans did not matter. I think this is because the show wanted to help children not judge people who appear differently from themselves. Whether you are a moose, or kangaroo, is not as important as being a friend and sharing in fun times together.
This is why I really do not like writing stories with humans. Animals make it a lot easier to show how there is no need for descrimination. If a penguin can play with a moose and kangaroo, why can humans not see beyond skin color, cultural origin, etc?
The great sadness is how shows, like Backyardigans and MLP, are meant for young children to accept diversity. However most forms of media remove this lesson as shows start to allegedly mature to more of a 'us against them' thing. It makes no sense.
If people think I am a childish baby for liking cartoons, like Backyardigans and MLP, I am proud to where those pampers. I would rather value people for who they are instead of what some ugly stereotype tries to make me think they should be.

Yeah. Stories with animals have those advantages that you mention. Telling lessons is usually easier and also more interesting. If you think so, usually animal characters are thousands of times cuter than humans so it is also easier to get fond of them by children. But western animation is not in its best era sadly, a lot fewer thanks to services like Netflix which are increasing the number of TV shows with humans. But don't worry, there will be always out there good cartoons to enjoy and learn amazing things!!!
