I make it a point to not upload works in progress, except for to send to commissioners.
However, I really want this image to be above my normal quality.
I want to make a swamp scene, seeing as I live in Louisiana. I want something with a lot to look at! Textures and detail and all that jazz! I'm still not sure if I want to keep working on this in flash, or attempt to do it with traditional materials.
But my main concern is if anything is horribly wrong with the composition before I continue. So I figured I'd post the rough draft here, and see what kind of responses I get. Any help and criticism would be greatly appreciated. <3
Also, I will probably delete this down the line, so I wouldn't recommend the favorite button. B3

Everyone who is worth half a damn is a fan of Walk Kelly. You're in LA? Weird, what county?
Also right off the bat I don't see anything wrong with the composition, the focal point is nice and I love the small details like the possum. the rocks coming out of the water throw me off a bit, but I'm sure they'll be clear enough when colored *shrugs* just my worthless two cents

Critique time~
I really like this scene so far. Backgrounds are always a challenge, and I gotta give you major props for focusing on one specifically, especially considering that I rarely even attempt them. Haaaa~
I really like the overhang from the trees and all the different kinds of stuff coming up out of the water. I would like to see more cattails and maybe a little more swamp grass, but I'm sure that can be worked in later on.
My only real critique is that Mook's eyes aren't in proportion. I would make the eye on our left a little bit smaller.
I love how Mook is fishing with his tail like in those old time cartoons, and that frog is nothing short of amazing. Those eyes. HE IS SO FOCUSED ON THAT FISHING LINE.
I'd like to see this finished digitally, just because it's easier and cheaper if you do happen to make a mistake, but I am a total sucker for traditional art. Either or would be okay in my book.

Thank you!
I totally see the error with the eye now! So glad you pointed that out.
As for the grass, I definitely planned on making a lot more detail there, which is easy to do traditionally. Digitally, it may be a challenge. I'll probably add more cattails too
I really wanted the background to stand out, so hopefully it'll work out nicely.
Thanks for the help pal! :3c
