actually, his family name is spanish since the Spaniards reigned in the Philippines for like... 333 years? the Philippines used to be a spanish colony or something. the Filipinos didnt have surnames so the Spaniards made us choose a spanish family name or make our own one. so some of our family names here are from spanish decent. if a Filipino has a spanish surname, then their ancestry might have spanish blood or otherwise. since my surname is Tecson, which was made up by my Filipino ancestors a long time ago, is not spanish but i do have a little bit of spanish blood in me XD
