The Turtle Found a Paintbrush- PS Painting Practice
COLOR! This jarring departure from my normal monochromatic, black-n-white world was the result of my admiration of a certain artist's utterly fantastic work. I got some generous tips from the artist in question and... Well I tried. I'm sure I'm learning something. I just need more practice.
So enjoy the bizarre abstract landscape. (Koopus got his shell waxed) ^^
Don't worry I got some TF stuff on the way. *grumbles*
Oh, and by the way Bob Ross is freakin' awesome.

Color! *covers his eyes before putting on some shades * Wow, you do experiment with a number of coloring techniques here, and they're quite vivid and varied. I'm not an expert when it comes to digital coloring (I have experience, in classes like Graphic Design, but outside that, I tend to use coloring formats like paint, chalk, etc), but I like what you've tried or learned from KitsuneKit.
Such as that shadowy left half, very smooth, fluid (or gaseous, when it comes to the phantom figure), with tints of color mixed in the black, makes for a very mysterious image (like that cat) or slightly spooky (the phantom, again). On the light right side, there's more innovation to be seen, from softened colored strokes to make the trees (yes, happy trees...I remember watching Bob Ross's show on PBS long time ago), to the rough sketchy feel of those loose papers and the pencil in the corner.
But, the focal image at the center that really caught my attention is, well, you. I mean, its quite a different look for you, and I mean that in quite a good way. I notice that you've drawn your koopa self as being slightly taller, with some pretty good coloring techniques for different parts of your body (such as the intricate detail to your hair, very nice) and your clothes (intriguing new turquoise shoes you have there). The shading of the form is used quite well, and you're still handy with facial expressions (But my what shiny shades you have o-o. Very HRG...excused the nerdy Heroes reference >.>). Overall, I think the piece is quite good, even if its an experimental piece, as the new skills compliment your established style very well...
And one more thing...*smirks and nudges playfully* Freshly waxed shell,eh...thinking of going on the luge later? *chuckles and winks* Well, the Winter Olympics are still topical, aren't they?
