I worked out a system to convert from standard image to image that can be made into an inlay in a chainmail pattern. (See http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2681210/ for the only inlay I've done so far.) I've been digging through pictures I've got saved on my computer, looking for images that would work nicely. Here's one, a segment of a picture by Shiuk (see it at http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2681210/), rendered in the twelve colors of anodized aluminum I have. Enlarge it a ways and squint at it for full effect.
Anyway, I'm not saying I'm making this particular image in chainmail (since I'd have to ask Shiuk first, and since I'd like to find one that's got more green). But I'm definitely going to do something in this manner.
