Ever since cubhood, Makali was known among the pride for being incredibly active, energetic and competitive. He was always eager to test both his strengths and his limits. Win or lose, it was the competition itself that truly mattered. More importantly than whether he won or lost even? It was just plain old FUN. Some cubhood habits never truly died out. Even as his mane settled in and new responsibilities were laid out in front of him? Makali always found the time to cut loose and have a little fun on the side...

I love the way Malaika draws motion; really makes it feel almost animated. The way the limbs bend and the mane pulls back, even the whiskers, and the tail lifted for balance... I am so glad that I got this piece from 'em; it's not only, I think, a great showcase of Makali's personalty but also just a great showcasing of his athleticism and general TLK anatomy in motion.

Thank you very much! Makali is a very enthusiastic and bold character, which I think the dynamic pose of him in a burst sprint (hence looking like he's 'flying') really did a great job emphasising! ... and I take so much pride in his mane. That mane is my favourite part of his design. XD
