So, here's my blind stab at a holiday I truly hate, Valentine's Day. Backstory first.

Joshua owes a lot to Glenn; it's through the mightyena he discovered that he may, indeed, like boys. They enjoyed a brief relationship, which was wrecked by Josh's anger. They decided to let him rope in that anger and figure out if guys were really what he was into.

Cycle ahead to the present. Glenn has returned to their dorm room, grumpy over not being able to hit it off with anyone at a social gathering. The spearow, despite what has happened, knows what he needs and tries to provide him with even a tiny bit of love, just to let him know its there.

Then this happens.
